Just to change the flavour of things: Mifsud tweeted this last night during the Hawthorn game. My response below:

“@AliFahour: What would the game look like without Yarren, Buddy, Cyril, Goodes, Ryder....” let's agree on different!

@jason_mifsud @alifahour and what would it look like without Cloke and Mitchell? Different as well. Why differentiate? They are ALL stars! (I wanted to say Pendlebury but didn't have enough characters left).

What a stupid bloody thing to say. Those bloke have no class.... What would the game be like without baldies, rangas or left footers? Different? You are right Jenny. Why differentiate? And only they can differentitate when it suits them, if we do, god help us!

Imagine Rendell tweeting something similar but regarding white players...

Different rules for different players (pun whatever one calls the underlying message intended) :D

I wait with bated breath for Soapsud (& Ali) to be, at the very minimum, sent to re-education lessons for a most blatant racial comment.

In fact, given the position they hold, and given the precedent set by Vlad, they should be summarily dismissed. :D

MATT Rendell, the Adelaide Crows recruiter removed from his job after he made offensive comments about indigenous footballers, looks headed for a position within the AFL.
The Age understands talks have been conducted at the game's highest level with a view to resurrecting Rendell's career via a portfolio in the league's game development department.

One of my mates claimed the AFL were out to get Rendell away from the AFC as his recruiting was too good. I said that he was paranoid and that the suggestion was ridiculous. No doubt he will now point to this article and the fact that Rendell was the only person accused of making racist comments who was sacked rather than being offered mediation. And now the FL offer him a job. Really strange handling of this whole story.

Rendell is a good recruiter - but c'mon really? I could understand if he had been with us for 10 years and we had won a bunch of flags... He joined us in 2007 and since then we have won 1 final... I hardly think the AFL is scared of how awesome we have become under Rendell..

I know that, but it helps my mate maintain the rage.

Well, we're now firming as the only party to actually lose in this situation.

I reckon Rendell lost pretty big. I am sure being painted as a racist who wouldn't recruit non indigenous players in the National media was pretty horrific for Matt.

Long term cost is to us unless we can find a better recruiting manager. Hopefully we can find one who is happy to work for an organisation that will cut him off at the knees if Andy D hints that that is what he wants done.

These are really disgraceful comments from someone who has been charged with the job of promoting multiculturalism within the sport. Multiculturalism is about celebrating everyone's differences, recognising all the positive aspects ALL the different cultures bring to this country and most importantly recognising that ALL people are equal no matter what their race or religion. Making snide comments on twitter about how good a handful of indigenous players are and what would it be like without them is just backhanded and low.

All people are different and not all cultures are represented in the AFL to the same proportion that they are present in our society but as more and more kids from different background become second/third/fourth generation Australians we will see more and more cultures represented in Australian Rules Football which can only be fantastic for the game.

The contribution indigenous players have made to the game is huge and should be celebrated and encouraged but comments like Misfud's are totally unhelpful and as others said only serve to further incite racism amongst the rednecks of society who are waiting to pounce on anything to further an us against them mentality.

Not only did we see some amazing play from guys like "buddy, Yarran and Rioli" on the weekend but I saw some incredible stuff from Pendlebury, Ablett, Mitchell (white Australians) from Naitanui (Fijian) from Pearce Hanley (Irish) some pretty tough stuff from Houli (Muslim) and D Martin (half Maori I believe) all during a week when we celebrated the contribution that a born and bred Irishmen made to our great game. Everyone is different. Misfud seems to think that only indiegnous people are subjected to racism in this country, from personal experience I beg to differ. Lets truly celbrate the multiculturalism of this country.

Not that I believe the article, but if it is true, why is Adelaide sitting by and allowing the AFL to give Rendell a lifeline?

With his outstanding recruiting record, why dont we try and get him back?

We obviously dont think recruiting is that important at the Adelaide Football Club. That would explain how Fantasia kept his job for so bloody long. And then resigned. If he didnt resign, he would probably still be in that job....

Fanta's was not a voluntary resignation ... he was asked to change and get more people involved in the process and did not like the idea.

EDIT - Think about it - who would voluntarily leave the Crows to join SANFL?

I know you know him personally, so please don't take this amiss...Wasn't there a suggestion that he was a bit burnt out? Might the AFC view this as being a good result out of the whole situation for MR and the club?

Why don't you believe the article?

See my edit - you got in first ...
He left to join SANFL, not bulldogs.
He was asked to make some changes in his style - he liked to do everything himself - when Matt came in he also came in with a team of scouts. Basically 4 replaced 1.

I hope I am wrong but it was first I have heard of it... Keeping his cards close to his chest? Hopefully....

But, he isn't in the spirits of someone who has just been thrown a lifeline..

There you go:thumbsu: Must admit I forgot he went to the SANFL first.....

One thing I found interesting and something for the conspiracy theorists, was when Gary Lyon on FC last evening read out a statement from the AFL and AD in particular that stated that both the organisation and Vlad himself had no part to play in Matts forced resignation.

While it didn’t state that it was as an apology from the network it sure sounded like one.

Astounding.
