Think Masten had an exceptional season till he bit that crab and then got injured. The club just with the gut instinct of hoping that he returned to early season form but he didn't.He was BOG for mine. Then he got hung out to dry unfairly imho.

Well, we had to fit an automatic starter into our midfield.Making him sub for the grand final was a really poor decision. We would have lost anyway on hindsight, but another experienced body out there who would put his head over the ball wouldn't have hurt.
His game in the 2015 QF was superb and his reward was to be the sub for the next two games.
This was a mistake. Got the sub round the wrong way. He would have helped absorb that early heat and had become a warrior. As disappointing as that result was, it is annoying when it is described as a "shocking" loss. We gave em too much early and when we threatened, we blew it and they snuffed it out but it was no 119 point soul destroyer a la Port 2007.Making him sub for the grand final was a really poor decision. Great call mateRecon he'd deserve a shot in the coaching ranks.
He played in the 2015 GFHe was bloody stiff to miss a GF spot in 2015 - was in our top 5 players when we smashed the Hawks in that first final.
Welcome home Matt.
Always nice to see players put sometimes back into the Club that took a punt and drafted them.
Life Time Membership as a player he now has an opportunity to contribute further to the Club a a Coach.
I must say I like this appointment.
Was saddened when he left, so it’s good to have him back .
He played in the 2015 GF
AgreedShould have started. Green vest was a cruel fate.
Probably LecrasGraham, Rosa our 2006 GF EMG's now coaches lol
Who was the 3rd EMG in that match?
Lollipop manHope he aint the kicking coach
Coaches aren't necessarily anything like how they used to play. Look at how Simmo was a player, and how he is now. Having a footy brain and a good capacity to build solid working relationships with others is much more important, and we know that Rosa has been revered by two clubs in this regard now.Interesting choice of Coach. I would have thought an outside mid wouldn’t make a great stoppage and structures coach.
Rosa was always attributed with having a great football brain. He certainly knew how to find the ball and was the best two way runner at the club in his time.I don't think being a superstar = great coach
I wouldn't say Jayme Graham was all that great as a fwd but now hes a premiership assistant coach.
Van Berlo was a captain but that's about the top of his credentials.
We also recruited Bateman who besides the 08 premiership doesn't have the most decorated player career
Welcome back Rosa!
I seriously doubt he's going to hang around for the next 20 years waiting for a gigOur next head coach. You heard it here first!!
