The issue with the academies is this. When its a good year the Northern states get first access to them at a discount price. When its not a good crop they then get to pick the eyes out of the SA, WA and Vic talent.

For the academies to be fairer, the Northern states should be made to take more of their academy kids, even when its not overly talented. You can't have your cake and eat it.

Good to see him re-sign. GC need stability with their young talent, and they are building something nice. There shouldn't be any reason for them not to become a destination club. It's in the middle of the party capital, has great weather and great lifestyle away from the game.

If GC can't make it work with their location and their academy perks, then they should be wound up.

I do know the club came to him about not being so adversarial with the playing group, and he made the effort to build his relationship with the players.

The reporting (not opinion, but report) is that he called the main two options and told them he is staying at Gold Coast, and told Gold Coast he will be staying. They also reported that he has re-signed, but then the coach said he hadn't so that part is not exactly confirmed, but it's not really up for speculation whether he'll leave or where to anymore (unless something drastic happens).
