It’s not exactly a secret that since bringing in Gubby Allan and SOS the Saints have been taking a scattergun approach to making random big offers to players, often last minute after getting wind that other clubs are further down the path with a player, seemingly without an overarching strategy behind it. I heard some stuff along those lines going back to 2019 when Gubby had started consulting there. There have been multiple articles written about it in recent years. This Rowell thing just seems like more of the same.
