Wonder who did the leaking about Matthew Guy's COS? Surely someone who had an axe to grind and was not promoted into the Shadow Cabinet when Guy returned as leader?

That is mostly due to Morrison having total control of the MSM at the time.Exactly.
The below story involving high ranking Libs barely raised an eyebrow and it is a mix of Redshirts and Somyurek combined.
Allegations of Liberal Party branch stacking involving Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar aired in defamation case
The allegations against the federal MP are detailed in documents filed in the Federal Court as part of defamation proceedings brought by a former Liberal Party factional figure.www.google.com
People sort of accept pollies bending rules to get elected but not putting their hand in the till or accepting bribes.
That is mostly due to Morrison having total control of the MSM at the time.
Morrison was literally writing their bylines and feeding them their stories, and Liberal Party branch stacking and corruption was never going to be one of them.
The media's behaviour during the entire Morrison government is nothing short of disgraceful and pathetic.
It is also a function of the narrative that the Liberals and their media simps have created over the years that Labor has "factions" that never stop fighting whilst the Liberals are one big happy "broad church".
In reality Labor's factions function more effectively than the Liberals who are literally tearing themselves apart from the inside federally and and in every single state in Australia except Tasmania and maybe Queensland.
If the Liberals lost their ability to control the media narrative like they do their vote would drop to 10% at the next election. It is only 23-24% now.
Accept the point that it was probably driven by revenge. And my post was tongue in cheek. Not really, in a way he is saying that the whistle blower is more vengeance than integrity (as in doesn’t expect integrity from the lnp) I must admit I had hopes things would be different
Oh definitely agree that Guy is not a victim. He appears to have done something dodgy - certainly the chief of staff has. For me the motive of the whistleblower is irrelevant at the moment.Accept the point that it was probably driven by revenge. And my post was tongue in cheek.
But the narrative then becomes Guy as the victim.
I don't think he is. The deal wasn't signed. But that ignores prior discussions and negotiations. And my opinion is that it is a clear attempt to bypass donation law. Guy hasn't attempted to distance himself from the earlier discussions.

I don’t think of Guy as a victim. My comment was a commentary on the state of politics in Victoria right now.Accept the point that it was probably driven by revenge. And my post was tongue in cheek.

I know you have been vocal on calling for Guy to resign, but the only thing I would pick you up on is singling out Victoria.I don’t think of Guy as a victim. My comment was a commentary on the state of politics in Victoria right now.
Agreed on all points.I know you have been vocal on calling for Guy to resign, but the only thing I would pick you up on is singling out Victoria.
I don't think the issues are only here.
But that is a conversation for another day and thread.

You clearly have someone in mind. Spill.Could someone within the Liberal Party who wasn't happy at being overlooked for a ministerial (or Cabinet) call up by Matthew Guy after ousting Michael O'Brien in a leadership coup be the leaker?

Weird, I made exactly this point yesterday and you and your mindless mates “lol’d”.Possibly.
Or perhaps it's as simple as one of them actually finding their conscience. Yeah I know, Liberal Party, thats unlikely.

What was different?No, you didn't.
What was different?
This is true. But even more concerning is that the act of "whistleblowing" was likely motivated more by revenge than by integrity.
Possibly.

Ok troll. You think it was concerning
Ok troll.
No. Corrupt conduct offends you based only on the politics of the perpetrators.Concerning -

I think they are a joke of a party, while you are anxious or worried.

Read all of my posts on the subject (before you delete them). You were concerned about the motivation behind the act of whistleblowing, as opposed to the corruption.
It's all there Bruce, we can read it. You even put quote marks around "whistleblowing" lol
Here’s one for you Ghost PatrolThat’s exactly what I’m saying. It would be hoped that the leak was driven by a frustration at this sort of behaviour but, depressingly, it is more likely driven by self interest.
