This coming from a bloke who's teams coach knew all about their drug problem, yet did SFA to stop it.
Hell even Marion Jones would find Woosha's attitude towards chemical behavior too disgraceful to put up with.

Hmmm Young inexperienced teams have been known to be up and down especially after such big wins. Hardly constitutes a rabble but i can see that you were just making a point re your team who are in a similiar position. Cheers mate (i hope mate is ok by you?)

I like the way they play and Knights is behind it.
Knights has got them backing themselves. Their skills haven't always been good enough to pull it off but they are young, they'll get better. And they are fast. It came together against the Hawks anyway...
Last year I remember thinking they reminded me of the Hawks circa 2006.
Its also a bonus that they are winning the big games with big crowds.
That's all the bomber-love I can handle. I feel dirty.

Having watched them go against Hawthorn their pace if frightening. If they stay fit and continue to hone their skills they will test even Geelong.

When Essendon announced Knights as coach I had my doubts and those doubts have been erased. Essendon is playing effective football that is great to watch. I also noticed two females that are part of his team of coaching staff..That's great.

While it's probably too early to call the Bombers chances for this year, the club itself should be recognised for again showing they are the best run club (at least in Victoria).
Sydney & North whinge about not being 'able' to bottom out, Essendon simply don't see it as an option. That's not to say they haven't in recent seasons but that was never by design. Trying to compete was probably the biggest failing in the end of their previous coach.
People under-estimate too the pain in removing a long-term coach like Sheedy especially when the long-term coach didn't want to go.
Knights took on a tough gig and has been incredibly impressive so far.
Full credit to him and full credit to Essendon.
The turn-around isn't complete and they need to get more consistent but you've got to be impressed with what they've shown so far.

Knights will give hope to coaches who dont come from successful playing careers. I know Grant Thomas got a gig but that was though friendship.
Before Knighter, clubs were putting premierships and finals as a critera so well done to the Bombers for looking through that to find a bloke who has obviously inspired them.
I was shocked they took him over Hardwick as I didnt want him at Richmond. Saw him as being a product of an unsuccessful era. I was really sceptical when he got Prescott across who was a reasonable player in an average team.
Looks like the process that the Bombers took was a good one. Well done for not being sentimental by taking Neal Daniher who would have been a feel good story whereas Im sure a number of Bomber supporters were taken aback when Matty was appointed.

The Bombers have certainly surprised me this year, I feel they are chronically underrated. The big question is though: can they keep this up for the rest of the season? As with any young side, they will be horribly inconsistent - you'll see more of this kind of stuff vs the Hawks, but more of the stuff they've shown vs Brisbane too.

I never doubted Knights, so many people were expecting more from Knights first season, but he did amazingly good with the amount of injurys we had, and he got hurley from it

Why wouldn't they?
Their game plan suits young, quick players. It would be aerobically taxing but that should become less of a problem the longer the season goes. Their defensive game relies on speed rather than being physically brutal. That should hold up.
Their speed makes them a threat to any team. If you're not clean in this league players will make up 10-20m on you in no time. Essendon are that quick that they can put open players under pressure quicker than most. Provided they maintain a reasonable structure they should be able to keep teams under pressure.
I accept the point on young teams though and agree they'll be inconsistent. I don't think anyone's predicting flags this year but if they can keep this group on the park and play a final or two, they should continue to build confidence and be in a position to challenge next year. That's quite remarkable considering how most viewed them preseason.
They didn't just beat Hawthorn, they gave them a touch up. That should give them a ton of confidence.

Was one of my absolute favourite players at richmond before that dumbass frawley shafted him. Was always at the bottom of a pack or flying the flag when things were bad. The way he single handedly tore essendon apart in the 95 isemi final is one of us tigers supporters fondest moments in some gloomy times.

Even if the game plan is going to be taxing on the young bodies, come rd 15-18 when some might drop off (e.g Zaha, Hocking, Dempsey, Pears, Houli, Winderlich etc etc), we have the likes of Reimers, Welsh, McVeigh & Prismall coming back in. Plus Atkinson, Nash & Skipworth who are all handy
Big call, but i think the dons have finally picked up the depth we had in 99.
I think our one major concern is getting Gumbleton up and running. Which isnt a bad concern considering Lloyd is hitting some decent form, Lucas just needs some confidence, Neagle looks ready to fight for a regular senior spot and with Ryder and Bellchambers doing well in the ruck, Laycock is another tall we can use up forward.
