I loved him to but in the long term I would prefer GrundyI'd love to see Wellingham back, we really miss his delivery in to the forward line.

This. Lloyd is probably right. We'll see if our players have learned anything.I heard his comments and they specifically related to our two way running and I agree as a midfield we haven't worked hard enough both ways since 2010. It goes hand in hand with Blaze's thread yep we look great on paper, but just haven't been getting the job done!
Its now time for the players to put up or shut up and I can't think of a bigger test than Freo first up who are the kings of two way running ATM.

My opinion was that Swan didn't do enough defensive work a few years ago but last year he was much improved. I expect that to bleed through to Beams too.
Ball, Macaffer and Adams are very defensively minded mids. Pendlebury will rack up even more and if Swan continues from last year, we're in a good place. Josh Thomas I think needs to keep this front of mind.
Give up a small forward we've got too manyWhat would we give up?
Whatever he's worth when he becomes available, would be a great story to get a premiership player back. What would we give up?

Don't know about Egan but Krak and Leon would be awesome to have back at the clubHell. Lets get Krak Egan and davis back while we're at it.
What I didn't like was that he cited our record against Freo, Sydney and Hawthorn (of course he didn't mention Geelong for some reason) to criticize our mids. He didn't bring up any key midfield stats, just that we lost the game and that it is apparently all the midfield's fault. I'd say our dysfunctional forward line had a fair bit more to do with our losses in those games (the Hawthorn games admittedly an exception as their midfield always kills ours). When we had our near full strength midfield back in round 20 v Sydney it blew theirs off the park.
He also failed to mention issues such as injury and our ruck problems. All in all it was pretty unconvincing
I've got a feeling that if we ever did get him back he'd be worth more than what he was when we parted ways. I rate him.Whatever he's worth when he becomes available, would be a great story to get a premiership player back.
All reporters/journos/analysts whatever you want to call them, pick and choose stats to support their argument. We all just need to pick and choose who we respect and ignore the opinion of those who we don't. As far as I'm concerned, we've got the wood over Sydney, Geelong and Fremantle. He says that we can not compete with those sides but **** we have won 12 of our last 14 against the Swans

Like mentioned, were 12 of 14 against Sydney. We've won 4 of the last 5 against Fremantle (that taking us back as far as 08.), and we're even with Geelong from the last 10. 5 wins a piece, but we've won the last 3.
Lordo usually makes sense. Love him fighting with Caro he'll usually win the argument on footy classified. Rate him.
As of late for sure, we did beat them in the 2011 prelim, but they generally pull our pants down.It are the Hawks who even when they were bad we have struggled against

Yeah in 2010-11 we got the better of them but that is itAs of late for sure, we did beat them in the 2011 prelim, but they generally pull our pants down.

But lets be honest we were not trying that game and they won by less then a kickWe still lost to them last round 2010. And 2011 some say they should have beat us in the prelim. As i recall when we beat them in 2010 it was the first time in a while.
Slams? He pointed the obvious out. Blaze made a whole thread about it.Wow, Lloyd slams the Pies and you see stars.
This is totally unexpected.
