To be honest I wasn't expecting much when I heard he was entering the media. As a player tended to speak in cliches with a fairly monotone voice.

However have been pleasantly surprised with his work on SEN so far. Offers some good insights and isn't afraid to speak his mind or have an opinion that goes against the grain. Has a good sense of humour too.

I thought the same of Buckley as well when he first started. Just shows how constrained footy players are with the media when they are playing.

Would have to agree with all of that. Now that he is at Ten maybe he can take over from Walls

He's alright on the radio. Sometimes he said something nonsensical like 'Nathan Bock can get 30 possessions a game on you, but he can also hurt you going the other way'. But you know what he's trying to say.

Has fitted in with the rest of the AFL media by having absolutely NFI what the new bump rule is all about.

Apparently he has a few brothers as well. I tuned in to the Morning Glory this morning for about 20 minutes . . . he must've made about five references to one of his brothers.

'My brother Simon, he's at Fremantle . . . '

'My brother Josh, he's in Las Vegas . . .'

Is he trying to get publicity for his brothers or something?

He didn't come across as the sharpest knife in the draw for most of his career, but I'd agree he's been quite impressive with his insight, honesty and choice of subject matter from what I've heard.
