Similar choices in that witts is no better playing up forward or around the ground than lobbe. Both are number 1 leading tap rucks. Also on where you judge witts growth. His form to date to be honest isn't very good, but many ruckmen at that age do make slow improvement before coming on late and people could be projecting witts to make similiar improvement
Depending on what you want and where your team is at.
If you want a ruckman who will perform right now lobbe would be the better choice. He has performed at afl level and has the runs on the board and is coming into the prime years of a ruckman
If you are building a team and think you might be pushing for finals in say 2-3 years rather than now than witts might be the better choice, as witts could be entering his prime then rather than lobbe at the back end of his
Are you a realist (lobbe) or a romantic (witts) ? most of bigfooty is romantic. Don't laugh, we like the fantasy part of something coming true and always love something speculative. I think clubs are more realists. There should likely be 5 ruckmen possibly heading back to vic this off season though in Clarke (no one will want him as a first ruck) nankervis (someone would like to pair him with another ruck) downie (he will be considered a project by someone and likely play vfl next season) witts and lobbe will be those considered by teams needed a lead ruck.

So if no trade for Lobbe is done he stays at Port Adelaide? Seems like no club is interested in him.

Richmond want Nankervis as their backup for Hampson and despite the Goldstein leaving North Melbourne rumors i still think he is staying.
