What about Haynes? If Henry's in doubt, his hard running to present across half-forward would come in handy. We missed that on Friday as Charlie refused to do it.

Haynes isn't up to it. Pure and simple. Maybe, just maybe McCarthy might make it but he gets the jitters big time with his kicking in the seniors. It's one thing to kick goals in front of 3 pensioners and their dog, it's another in front of 40,000. I still have major doubts. Playfair looks like he's going to make it, Lonergan looks promising, Mackie can play but is still 2 years away from having a body, and Gardiner can play but his kicking is a disgrace.

Anyway, can anyone give Bonson a rating in terms of first impressions?

Didnt get a huge amount of game time but from what I saw he definetely has a touch of black magic, how much is hard to say given the amount of game time he got.

Haynes isn't up to it. Pure and simple.

Like him or not, he was our most important forward in the finals series last year. I believe that if he didn't go off injured against Brisbane, we'd have been playing in a Grand Final the following week.

He deserves a chance and has earned it IMO, something Charlie Gardiner hasn't.
