Unfortunately, he looks every bit his age out there at the moment.

Absolute champion of the club. Wish he had access to whatever St Nick and Pinchy Harvey have to keep them going though.

His form's been ok but it was a ridiculous decision to play him last week in those conditions.

Needs a change of position, perhaps more midfield or defence because he is really struggling in the forward line. Bring in Apeness and reposition Pav quick. No longer concerned about Pav leaving, it is time for others to make an impression.

Needs to retire...now.

Him playing on is just keeping Apeness/Smith/Uebergang from getting experience at the top level.

He has been a great player but the best thing he could do for the club is quit. Sorry.

I just got home feom the Peel game and none of those you're mentioning are quite ready.

Surely we give Pav 6 more games.

Your probably right..they are not quite ready, but so what? Its called "fast tracking". Its the sort of thing that teams do to try and speed up development of their younger players. The club does not the luxury of waiting until a player is "ready". We have to get them ready in time for round 1 2017.

I can understand the sentiments about letting Pav choose the time and place of his retirement but he needs to step aside sooner rather than later.

I can't wait to see Apeness but he really hasn't played any footy for so long, in reality he needs to keep playing WAFL for another couple.

Uber is also probably a long way from afl ready don't think they should try him until next year. Maybe one game towards the end of the year for a taste.

Smith has had his card marked and will not be in the squad next year so why play him?

He was our best forward this year pre-resting, lets not right him off just yet guys, he is still leading our group and allowing taberner to develop.
Apeness can play with Taberner and Pavlich btw we used to play Clarke there anyway, Apeness is the Forward/Ruck that we have needed.

Also have a rewatch today and watch where the ball was kicked to pavlich, you guessed it, over his head. Abysmal service was the problem today, not the great man.

Uber is ready to replace sutty, Smith can play pav position thus dropping Griffin by playing Clarke in the main ruck.

With peel when Hannath play ruck ,tanner and Uber do some pitch hitting. Time to move on for future.

He is the great man and I will be there at his 350 but that was one of his worst ever games. I cannot recall a time when Pav fumbled so much, was slow (obvious reasons) and then finally kicked so poorly. His opponent in Fisher also had a birthday taking marks on him at will. I honestly cannot recall a worse game from our champ.

Keep playing him, when Apeness comes in play him in a different position maybe even backline or more time in the midfield. I have to say the horror of not having Pav in the team going forward is easing as I am more than comfortable with hopefully watching Apeness, Taberner and McCarthy next year.

And who was captain last night against St Kilda? Who did the talking in the player huddle pre-game and during as well as after?

Pavlich has been cheated by Lyon and the club. He was definitely going to retire but was handed a guilt trip and false promises as an incentive to play on.

He deserves 350 games as a bare minimum but nothing will change the awful humiliating situation he has been placed in now.

There are times when I reckon I must be watching a different game to alot of people on this site.

Yep Pav aint kicking bags of goals, but it he is doing alot of 1 percenter's. A nudging of his player out to create a pathway for another forward, knock ons, taps to advantage, kicks to advantage etc.

He is providing leadership, guiding the "anklebiters" through their first awkward steps.

Pav the leader deserves alot more respect, he is holding firm in our hour of need.

Didn't realise Kickett would be so high up on this list.
A weird career and impact had Dale.

To me he was always a livewire ball of energy. I only remember his last few years as well. To me he was like a manic Sonny/how Ballas used to be, so it's a little impressive that he was doing that in his 30s.

He played for what, the Eagles and Fitzroy, but St Kilda and maybe Footscray too? Pretty sure he owns the equal record of most clubs played for with five. But weirdly enough I think everyone will remember him as a Freo man.

Anyone see Pav this morning on The Footy Show (one of the footy show's on Sun morn, I rarely watch either)?

Looked either really hungover, or really sick. Was struggling to articulate his 3 points properly.

Guess the restaurants really are better in Melbourne.

He has my full respect and can't wait for his 350 but that was probably the worst game of his career it just was. I have never seen him smashed so badly.

Phil Reid always will ;)

FWIW I think Pav should be given every right to choose whatever he wants this season. He was only playing on because we couldn't get McCarthy. He was going to retire if that happened. Pav bleeds purple and stayed with the club through thick and thin, deserves every accolade named after him, with all respect to the Doig family, it should be named the Pavlich medal.

For all those calling for him to be dropped for the youngsters I am speechless, how on earth will any of them give the on field leadership and drive that he does? Yeah he's fallen from his godlike grace but he still, like it or not, is our best forward option. And that's no fault of his.

So Ross is trying to smooth the path for him to go soon and de-emphasising the importance of playing out the season or reaching 350.
I guess Ross is also being disrespectful, then?
