Right, and where exactly did I say Buckley said it or announce that Pendles was Bucks? Smarty pants indeed. Maybe you should just concentrate on being right instead of over-reaching aiming for clever.
Reach for the stars they say.......accepting anything else and making excuses (ala Bucks) is a recipe for disaster in my eyes.

Thanks for your advise all the same jackcass.....one thing is certain, we are a helpful bunch on Bigfooty :thumbsu:

Boo Hoo. Shaz hasn't re-signed.
Who cares? Why speculate that he is leaving?
I highly doubt he will leave & there has been no suggestion that he will either apart from the rocket scientists on this board.

Gone for sure after that interview!

Just a matter of what we can get for him now
I get that it would have been nice to hear him say "yes I am enjoying life at Collingwood and I will definitely re-sign" but I dont get what makes you all so sure. He wasnt exactly enthusiastic about anything. When they asked him whether he was excited about playing next week his reaction wasnt emphatic either

Gave a few politicians answers when pressed about his contract, but given the kids personality it's not surprising. To be honest, I'm sure he felt like saying to them that his contract is nobody's business but his own, but instead tiptoed around it for the sake of diplomacy.

You'll find its the usual suspects who think he's on the way out anyway who grab that interview and use it as their proof he's gone.

The one that concerned me was the question "do you want to stay at collingwood?" Straight forward question that he could have given a straight forward answer to, that wasn't necessarily a contract related one. And he dodged it beautifully. Could have given a simple "yes" or "yeah hopefully" but he didn't answer it. Feels harsh critiquing a young kid doing probably one of his first radio interviews but as we analyse the shit of everything on here for better for worse, that one had a few alarm bells ringing for me. If he stays good on him for not getting drawn into the speculation too much though.

What that interview just filled you with confidence did it? The interview was fine until asked if he wanted to stay at collingwood. Pretty straight forward question I would have thought. To tip toe around that just doesnt scream hes staying to me.

I'll be over the moon if he does stay but in my opinion he's already made his mind up and is going.

I'm not that worried by that interview actually.

He had 3 chances to advise he wanted to put his contract talks on hold 'until the end of the year' - but he didn't. Might seem grasping at straws, but he can kill the talk by stating that timeframe of 'end of the year' - but he was consistent in saying it wasn't the key priority for him, getting some ofty and a game was, and it would 'sort itself out'.

Agreed - I don't take a heap of optimism either, but I don't take a lot of negatives and reads like a guy that has had a contract put in front of him is he not completely happy with, and is hoping that getting a senior game would result in the club moving a bit on the offer. Until that time - you never know if someone from SA comes calling with what he is looking for.

My gut feel is he stays, and if nothing else - it is in our control to keep him on how we proceed.

The interview was neither negative or positive about him staying. It's only negative if you say negative is "not being positive".

He just more or less dodged the question. His manager has most likely taught him well.

In answer to the question about whether he wants to stay he said (paraphrased) "I'm really enjoying getting out there with the boys and that it beats being in rehab, I'm putting his footy first etc etc." He then goes on to again say that all the contract stuff will sort itself out.

Definitely totally dodged the question, 'do you want to stay at Collingwood' mumbled about good to be back out there yadayadaydada.

His manager has worded him up there I'd say, he is either looking to go home or wants a massive pay rise.

I sat behind Schazza at Williamstown last Sunday, and I studied the back of his head intently. Being an accomplished reader of all things to do with the backs of heads (including hair style and length), I can categorically state that he loves us and is a shy and retiring type.:p
You two should get on well then :D
