for those of you who kept track, I need to know when Smith came on and off the list.

Wasn't he 2000 ND # 48 ??

on the list for 01, 02, 03. Then delisted

Rookie listed for 2004

Elevated for 2005

and delisted at the end of 2005.

That is roughly how I remember his journey. Was definitely Pick 48 in 2000 except I seem to recall that he was elevated for 2004. He was a travelling emergency on that torrid night when Brisbane smashed us in one of Neil Craig's first few games. So unless he was an upgraded during that season for a LTI I think he was on our senior list in 04.

The only reason I know straight off the top is because he was the bloke I got along with the most in my time working at the club, and I cringe everytime someone on here bags him - not because he obviously didn't make it as an AFL footballer, but rather that most here wouldn't have a clue about just how great a bloke he really is.

yeah I seem to remember Smith and Aiden Parker upgraded towards the end of 2004 for the Carey / Mark Stevens LTIs

I'm sure you're right about him being a nice bloke.

However as footballer he was a dud. Five years in the sytem for zero games says it all.

I thought both Smith and Parker were delisted at the end of 04 season, beginning of Craig's reign.

I was disapointed by the Parker decision, thought he might be a player and at that time we needed key defenders, Rutten came on well though, as have Bock and Stevens.
