Someone get the passage of play on youtube where he gets the ball under pressure, gets tackled, breaks the tackle on the boundary and under extreme pressure drills a perfect 40 meter pass down the boundary line to Carltons advantage, going to be exciting after a good preseason next season.

That passage of play was definitely against Collingwood.

Fantastic presence of mind to tap it to his advantage and have a run along the boundary.

The kick following that didn't hit the target but wasn't a turnover and still went to a Carlton player.

Not sure he'll be there come round 1 but showed a heap for a young kid and will feature a fair bit in the seniors in 2011. Very impressive down back, needs to improve his body work but that will come. Seems an excellent defensive spoiler.

His kicking is simply outstanding. Long, direct and accurate, could become a real weapon for us. That kick out against Collingwood which went about 70m was outstanding. We'll feel very comfortable with the ball in his hands when playing senior footy.

Would love to see him improve his play up forward but that may come with time. Very competent down back at this stage but it is very early still. Watto showed some great signs last night - very exciting to have a player like him on the list.

I creamed during that passage of play, showed a lot of composure there, not just the kick, but the way he won the ball, got through the tackle, and working tight against the boundary, still under pressure had the coolness to pin point a 40 meter pass, awesome for a 18 year old.

Watched the Blues Pies game again last night and I have to say his first hit out was fantastic. Virtually every contest he was involved in he did something effective, didn't seem to have any issue for pace which I think was mentioned pre-draft.

Really like the look of Watson and would be very surprised if he doesn't get game time in the seniors this year.

I was a bit unsure if he was ready to shadow the more experienced forwards just yet (the rest of his game is just fine ) but I think with Bower and Laidler very capable in the air as third men up I think he would have enough support to make it work and of course as marc Murphy says every game a young guy like this gets is an investment in the future.

Really like the look of Watson and would be very surprised if he doesn't get game time in the seniors this year.

Watson holds his ground quite well for someone so young.
Let's hope we get an upgraded Harry Taylor with Matthew.
