All I can say is once again - I TOLD YOU.

The shit I got for wanting this guy in the team - holy crap.

Clearly none of you go to reserves games and rely on the TheGeneral (as good as he is no doubt) but seriously, there was never any, any doubt this guy should have been in the team. Fair enough, not straight away (TheGeneral said this, again, admittedly) but sheeeesh, there were a few accusations of ....potato

I do go to reserves games, But like 'Grigg', I don't think Watson was ever knocking down the door demanding selection, But maybe like 'Grigg' he raises to the level, KP with less than 10 games, hopefully he keeps going, because he is going quite well. I never thought he was a potato, just didn't think he was ready yet.

Can not disagree - beyond I thought he was ready - saw him absolutely tear it apart and was imply frustrated by having to play ressies.
Was clear as day - obvious stuff.

The real question which needs to be asked is what is our development policy - we are punishing success, hindering talent and rewarding donkey cum.

Watson would not be a KPP size with a normal head.

Liking how he is going about it. Will take time and possibly a beating or two but looks like he has the goods required to release Hendo.

Very good again tonight, continued his good form from the past few weeks.

Still has a way to go but he's showing some fantastic signs for a young footballer. Makes some poor mistakes, particularly with positioning, but he'll learn from each and every one of them and be better off as a result.

Should be in the senior side for the rest of the season. Will be a player and a very good one at that. Really exciting prospect.

I'll be the first to admit he really worried me in the pre-season. I am rapt he is currently proving me wrong. Some guys need the step up in level to get their juices flowing. Should stay in the senior team for his development. Don't think VFL will be beneficial for him.

Hopefully we get the other young bloke in Mitchell in the side soon and allow him to learn the game. Might be a better option to play a kid drafted as a forward than keep trying to turn ruckmen into forwards. Just a shame the VFL draw has been pathetic this year and guys like him have had hardly any footy.

Hendo showed the difference a forward who can compete at ground level can make. Wouldn't be at all against bringing Mitchell in after the bye. Two more games in the seconds to get his match fitness up then throw him into the deep end and see if he swims.
looks like this has worked with Watson.

Pleasantly surprised with what I saw last night...solid composure and decision making. Has that cannon strapped to his leg but doesn't just pull the trigger, looked to be summing up best options. Hope that he gets a run of games.

Is it just me or does he suffer from tyrannosaur-itis? (otherwise known as Daniel Rich arms).

Good signs for sure. Love that left boot best of all. In today's footy the ability to pinpoint a flat 50m pass is gold.

Agree with other posters about the sense in blooding players in the seniors to see what they've got rather than rely on VFL form as a guide. Especially in a bye-riddled fixture and an underperforming team.

By the way I was being more than a little facetious with my previous post about Darling. A little dig at this board's tendency to play the hindsight game regarding draft picks.

he looks good, had a couple of nice pick ups below his knees for a big fella.

that head must have its own postcode or area code or something. it's enormous.

his one weakness seems to be his pace. not normally something you can improve on but here's hoping the fitness staff are looking at what they can do for him.

What makes you think you were the only one calling for Watson to be played? You have this "I'm the messiah of foresight" delusion. Heaps of people wanted Watson in the team. Suggest you get over yourself and calm down when people ignore your rants.

Still rather have Darling. There, I said it.

Pretty simple really.
Watson plays the rest of the season and Henderson plays forward.
Gives our team much better balance, and we'll be even better off once Laidler comes back as well.

Hendo is not a forward, simple as that !

Watson doing well and showing why we drafted him but have to say we made a mistake in not taking Darling especially when you look at what we are missing position wise.
