Was it an attempted bump that went wrong? I saw two heads collide, and Whelan felt the worst for wear afterwards. The impact caused from the bump was minimal. In that case, I would be surprised if he got suspended.

This is what is wrong with half of you hypocrites. Half of you moan that the game is becoming soft (early posters) and then also whine about how many Whelan should get. If he gets any this game will start to fall by the way side and people will stay away in droves. A great bump within 5 metres of the ball, didn't jump, clashed heads thats all. Ball needs to look where he is going.

If he even gets looked at by the match review committee then forget about bumps all together, soon you will see players running alongside their team mates with their arms out wide like in the u/10's.

Read the thread mate, you wont find many people demanding he gets suspended. Its more a reflection of the current tribunal that you automatically expect to see players suspended for benign incidents. Thats why you'll see threads like this all year.

Unlike the Giansiracusa bump on Kosi last year, the issue i have with the bump of Whelans is that he turned his back & made contact with the back of his shoulder. In my opinion, as i was sitting in the AFL members quite close, its Whelans shoulder that made contact to Ball's head... Having said that, i dont want him reported cos i love those huge bumps

Simply nothing wrong with the bump. Didn't get him high intentionally (Head clash), was within 5m of the ball and he needed to do it otherwise Ball would have put pressure on Jones.

Initially I was ropeable but after see the replays when I got home I soon saw that it was a fair bump, Luke should have seen the guy but seemed to have all focus on the ball carrier. Should get nothing.
