Matty 'cheat' Lloyd

Matty Lloyd sunk to new depths last night in the 3rd quarter. He pushed his own teammate into an oncoming Richmond player to milk a free kick. The Richmond player couldn't do too much about it and was payed a free kick against him. Some of you might say good play.

What has been quite evident over his career is that he is willing to forgo his own dignity to play for free kicks. But now he is resorting to sacrificing his own teammates welfare to get that free kick.

What would have been good is for his teammate to get knocked out and have 10 replaying it over and over. Certainly wouldn't wish that on an innocent player, but at least all his teammates and umpires will know what depths he goes to to get cheap free kicks.

Clearly he's a shite captain, and all his teammates hate him. Clearly. He's certainly not controlling the forward line and taking a defender or two out of the match at the same time.

To credit Matty Lloyd, the diving component of his game has been minimal this year, Champions and old dogs can be taught new tricks.
If my memory serves me correct, the last big dive Matty Lloyd took resulted in his hamstring tendon being ripped from the bone in 2006.
The footy Gods were talking that season.

Maybe I am crazy or in another world if you are the success you claim to be, you should be on top of the ladder. As usual your team is not so good as you say. Maybe when Gary O'Donnell takes over as coach your team will perform better. Maybe even Stuart Diver might stop diving for free kicks and kick more goals. The bombers dont impress me so if your team is great should they have given the tigers are belting?? Can you beat West Coast Eagles, Port Adelaide and Geelong?? Gee i hate Essendon as much as the next person but this thread is an absolute joke, sure he does the occasional dive, has a dopey voice and has a face you'd just like to kick the sh*t out of, but to question his football ability is just plain stupidity and reeks of envy, Facts don't lie, he is now closing on 800 goals, has been a terrific servant of the Essendon football club and will go down as one of their all time greats.

I'd like to see a stat of games won and lost with and without Lloyd to see just how important he has been for the Essendon FC

I think we've barely won a game without him in the past 3 years. Haven't been great with him either, but we really really struggle when he's gone.

If they were giving away Essendon membership tickets I would not buy them as it is not a good return for my money. I hope you can get the money together to give Kevin another contract. That would be good for foottball. I really hope the bombers make the finals because I can see Essendon get there just deserts. Get cleaned up the teams like West Coast Eagles, Port Adelaide, Geelong and Collingwood. You can't buy something that isn't actually being sold can you? I know this was your take on a smart arse call, but it generally helps to actually have some brains before giving it a go.

However, i share your hope that we make the finals. Experience is a great thing to have. Sure, we'd just be making up the numbers, but it beats winning the spoon.

It's simply because as his career thankfully winds down he is too slow now to get anywhere near the contest. Lloyd wont get that 1000 goals that his ego craves and nor should he. Ordinary player and a sh*t bloke to boot.

Ordinary players don't get anywhere near 600 goals, let alone 1000.

No, he probably won't hit 1000 after missing last year, but players don't kick that many goals without being something special.

How can a full forward be too slow to get anywhere near the contest.
The contest should be wherever he is.. As that's where our midfield should be kicking it.

If anything, he's being the opposite of what you say, playing up the ground alot more as that's where he's been helping us the most.
