he was by far the worst Australian player on Friday night.
He didn't get a hell of a lot of ground time..........I thought Robertson & Fletcher were clearly worse than Lappin........he did look slow compared most players though.

Your information is pretty unreliable surrey. Still remains unsigned.
I guess now that you calmed down after the "Fev talk" you will concentrate on Lappin but wait until done deal before you start raving on this time. :p

Again IITB....won't happen both are staying with BLUES in 2006.

He can ******** off if he plans on extorting more cash from us.
Is he after more cash or a longer contract?
He realises he is past his prime and this is his last chance of securing a decent length contract before he cops the 'one year at a time' deal most players in the twilight of their careers seem to get.

I'm pretty sure that Skinny is after 3 years, and the club will only offer 2. He has also indicated that he hasn't been "looked after" as well as other players on the list, so it's probably a combination of them both. Now that Campo has gone, i'm sure the club will not want to lose 2 players with so much experience.

Serves him and his manager right for so poorly over-estimating his market value.

Whether he takes the pay cut and stays now will be interesting, hopefully he does.

Can't believe some of you want to bag Lappin, he's been a terrific player at the club, and he seems to put his club ahead of himself. He only wants one year more than they want to give him, to end his contract at 32. Not such a huge ask when Richmond gave Simmonds (spelling?) a 5 year deal.

What is more worrying is a player like Fevola, a player who is more famous for being on the footy show than playing footy and to me is iconic of Carlton Football Club's current woes.

Give me Lappin anyday. All Australian only a couple of years ago.

people are dirty on lappin as he is making out carlton owe him the world

he was offered 2 years at about $400,000- good money
when contract negotiations didn't go his way, lappins form dropped off, not a great case for getting a 3rd year
st kilda got rid of lappin and carlton gave him a lifeline to continue his career
RFC giving simmonds 5 years is all the more reason for clubs not to enter into lengthy contracts

you need to ask what are the reason behind wanting 3 years?

carlton can't afford to be paying 32 going on to 33 year old's big bucks when the likely hood is he will be past his best in the 3rd year
if he is playing good footy at the end of 2 years he will get another contract
