He was a bit stiff not to get a few chopping the arms frees inside 50 today, could have been a much more impressive day on the stats sheet if those had been paid.

Still needs to work on his strength in the air, and he gets out-bodied too easily at the moment, but I was pretty happy with the role he played today.

I'm going to assume he was just getting the rookie calls, because 1 or 2 of them in particular were terrible non calls. Still, that happens and if you're going to play the big fwd role at AFL you need to be strong enough physically and mentally* to deal with that stuff. I love his work-rate and though he's no Mayne in terms of creating pressure, he tried to put a bit of pressure in and laid a few tackles.

Step in the right direction for the Tabs. Next step, needs get more strength in the areal contest, then we've got something.

I thought him sitting beside pav works well while he learns the game, a bit stronger in the hips and confidence with the hands, will be very handy

I don't think he's ever going to be a really dominant KPF but if he can be a solid, Josh Jenkins style fwd and at least compete then I'll be happy enough.

I disagree, he has excellent leading patterns. A bit of work on his marking and strength I think he could make it as a 40+ a year key forward.

Already exceeded my expectations of a teenage key forward picked up with a rookie pick. People need to lower there expectation and realise that key position players take time. Only the real elite draft picks dominate as kpps straight away. He is about 10 kilos off where he needs to be and is still playing a role. There's a lot to like about him but patience will be required.

He played a better game than I expected. Had an effect for sure. Still went to ground too easily and dropped a few marks he should take but some of his second efforts were good and his work rate is excellent. Long way to go but something to work with there.

I agree with most of it, most of the marks he dropped his arms were chopped and he could have easily got two free kicks in the foward 50.

Timid players don't fly for marks or scrap.

Very, very happy with the lads performance, he worked very hard and ran his guts out for little reward. Apart from the aforementioned non-calls on the arm chop.

If so you should both reassess the correct usage of the word 'slight stature' 'cuz I used it correctly.

I was really happy with Tabs today. I have been waiting to see something from him to suggest he had a long term future ( training reports are great but must be taken with a pinch of salt). Today I saw more than a few things. The agility shown in his first goal. The leading mark which he converted into his second. His movement was also good, he just lacked the strength to pull off what he wanted to do. He showed today he could be something, what that something is, we will wait and see.

Tabs provided a great target up forward today. Good to see him get show his stuff when it's not pissing down or when we're playing our B team. The more afl games he gets the better he will become. The more games he gets along the Pav the better, learning from the master.

Spot on!
He is improving all the time and will play some good and bad ones as he learns the trade of the hardest position on the ground as a lead up forward.
He covered a lot of ground today and kept presenting and was not always rewarded for his efforts especially in the making contests.
He certainly has a future but we have to be patient with him.

Was impressed. If Mayne doesn't get up next week, then Tabs will play again. Knows where to go, just needs more muscle, which is understandable. Also needs to keep his feet, but it was only his 5th game? He gets a tick for that game from me.
