Anyone else notice him really lift around the start of the fourth? Almost as if He thought he was going to be the obvious sub out or Ross said something at 3qtr time. Was massive.

I thought he started lifting after half time - seemed more composed than the first half and started having an impact. not sure what other structural changes took place at half time that contributed

I think having Tabs, or any other extra tall in the team, changes the dynamics of our forward line. You then basically have ballantyne and Walters as the smalls, Crozier as the high half forward and Mayne moves into that defensive role that Deboer would usually play. Then you obviously have Pav and Tabs as the talls with both Sandi and Clarke moving through there at stages as well.

You then have the scenario that Deboer is no longer competing with Crozier for a spot he is basically competing with Mayne for a spot in the team. Maybe is perfect for that spot as he is aggressive, never gives up but on top of that has many more strings to his bow than Deboer. He is much more dangerous in the forward line as he can be that lead up forward and hit the scoreboard more.

So I think if we have that extra tall in the forward line, the players competing for each other for spots kind of changes. Crozier would probably be competing with guys like Syvlia (if he gets his act together), Morabito, Duffy and maybe even Sheridan.

I think Sheridan would be competing with the likes of Hill, Pearce, Sutcliffe and Mzungu for that run and carry role through the midfield and across half forward.

Yeah definitely after half time but I thought he was bobbing up especially when the sub is usually made.

I was really happy with his game on the weekend. It's great to see him playing with a bit of confidence and finally using his height & athleticism to his advantage. There were some great plays by him on the weekend, and with a bit more development I think we have a keeper :)

Killing it.

Might keep Pav out....... Just jokes but seriously Taberner is a beast when he has his confidence up, looks fairly buggered at the moment will be interesting to see how well he runs the game out.

I don't think anyone has been hating on him since he started to show some really promising signs last week. I didn't think he'd really shown much before then, glad that he has.

Silent Alarm

Curiously absent this week and last, has written huge vitriol rants on how shit he is so I'm expecting him to man up one of these days.

Exactly. Although he'd shown good attributes with his endurance and leading he was a pretty ineffective player at the top level.
Its not hating on someone to say they aren't ready or they need to work on things to become effective.
Call it as you see it and be prepared to admit when players exceed your expectations.
Taberner played easily his best game today and he looks a real prospect.
