Struggling with the demands, of what is required to go to the next level, maturity. Good get if they can sort that out

I just don't think the value is there for the state players. Put it this way, #42 for Krueger and #30 for McAdam adds up to #18, which is where a PP might have been.

Remember you're restricted to player that have been previously overlooked in the draft before so you're not getting much better than a pick 42.

SOS doesn't do things unless he has other plans. I'm thinking pick 42 will be used either as part of trade deals or for the sake of needing a pick. We only have pick 1, 24 and 25 as earlier picks so, outside of pick 1 of course, they'll be swallowed up pretty quick given we get the likes of Shiel, Settlefield and McGovern, the later who is coming. One thing I was reading (one of many things one reads), is we give up a future first rounder, picks and 24 and 25 to GWS for Shiel and Settlefield for pick 13 back, which would be on-traded for McGovern. So pick 42 gives an an extra pick. If somehow we got all those guys we won't be needing any mature-aged State League player.

You're right, no good players ever come at pick 42 or later.

Fair call, but I think there may have been an element of gamesmanship in quickly getting this offer through, largely built around that we don't care about the immediate trade result, merely what that can become a part of in other trade negotiations.

We must've thought he would go before 42, you guys obviously prefer a completely free pick with 42 or be able to trade it for a mature player

Looks a bit more physically developed this year, but lacks some of the agility he displayed the year before. Functional medium forward with scope to be a KPF down the line. Will need to find another dimension at the next level, because it doesn't look like he can overpower anyone with his endurance or his contested work at this stage.

Not sure he would have been take much sooner than pick 42, so don't discount the aspect of bringing him in for the very start of pre-season instead of waiting another 8+ weeks.

Certainly a better option than Menzel from a defensive perspective.

I watched him at the championships, don't need to see SANFL U18s footage. The consistency of his kicking action needs a bit of work but he should be a dangerous 3rd or 4th forward option in the next 18 months if he puts the work in.

Seems an unusual pick for you guys given he's tall, has speed and isn't built like a brick shithouse.
