That's really good news.
I think it was important that we were able to keep Max on the list. At this point in time, he is our depth in the ruck. Things may change next year, but who knows??

I would think he's happier playing at Box Hill every week than spending every week in rehab like he had probably become used to. No way he would have become disillusioned after 2012

I am so happy, but half expected this news. Max is a true blue Hawk, and with a bit of luck will be taking the centre bounces again in 2013. Who knows what last season would have brought if Max hadn't broken his wrist. Good luck for next season, Big Fella!

Not necessarily. I can see McCauley being let go after this - to a large extent he was brought in because no one knew how Rough would go coming back. As it is I think that we'll play Bailey a bit more next season and give Hale and Roughead more of a rest, especially with niggling injuries so I'd expect Lowden to get a runout against the minnows.
 
Run out of patience with him to be honest. Even when he has been fit and playing, the signs havent been great. JJust dont think he is going to be a dominant ruckman which is exactly what we need. I hope they put a bit of time into Lowden and give him every oppotunity to prove himself at senior level.

No one should be gifted a game at Hawthorn. Make them earn the right.
Sam Mitchell absolutely blitzed it at Box Hill in order to get drafted and then won the Liston from about 8 games to force his way into the Hawthorn team. If a player is good enough he will force his way in. If not he will rot at Box Hill until he is delisted.

Force your way in Luke don't sit back wishin and hopin.

Lowden will be a 5th year player and will put his hand up to play in the 1st.

Why would you want a player to rot......son?

Wow! Brother, McCauley has the tools but his soft as butter. Send this to Max to get him angry....

If Bailey and Lowden stay, not sure McCauley will be at the club unless he stays a rookie.

The guitar riff should have max punching walls before the game

I was being sarcastic, Lowden is the future, Max is a one trick pony. Part of our problem with list management and us tiring as seasons go in is blokes like Lowden don't get enough games into them. Lowden and McCauley have more upside than Max, but their story isn't as sexy as Max so we go with the fairytale.

Sorry Dermott, you clearly have not been watching Box Hill. Lowden is ready and needs opportunity.
