Yup as I have said for the last 2 years... This is the time of year when Thomas's coaching ability or lack of it will hurt St Kilda regardless of how many Number 1 and 2 draft picks they get.

Seemed like he misjudged the flight of the ball a few times last night which cost the team. Haven't noticed it before from him but does he do that often?

For people that watched the game on TV last night, you might not appreciate why Max was so far away at times. It wasn't a brain fade. It's called being tackled, slung and pushed out when the ball is 25+ meters away.

The idea to use Max was because of his better leap. The plan was obviously to play off him and jump over him rather than getting into a wrestle. Tredrea is too smart for that, and the speed at which the ball came forward allowed him to put Max out of the contest before the ball even got there. Too many players pushing forward had more to do with it than Max's effort.

But I guess when you watch football on channel 10 it's hard to see what's happenning 5m off the ball let alone 20.

A mate of mine just rang from AAMI stadium where he was cleaning up after last night... he reckons he saw Max Hudgton at 10am this morning on his own in an empty stadium in the backline trying to fist an imaginary ball.... we worked out that it was just Hudghton trying to spoil Tredrea in the 2nd quarter but was that far behind him all night that he was only just seeing him react to it now.

Although he wears his heart on the sleeve and gives 100% every game, he is just not upto marking guns like Treadrea. He was easily beaten lsat night, and it was totally his fault, Grant Thomas MUST know this by now!

What you mean 'if' Porthos ? as much as you'd like to see him play without an opponent it's not going to happen
