The short answer is yes. From what I've read online, Foxtel will still have some HBO/Discovery content, but the majority of it will now only be viewable on Max+. (including season 2 of The Last of Us)

What content will remain on Foxtel/Binge, I do not know.

Yeah it's the basic package with ads.

The basic package is HD only, too, not just with ads.

Max+ is offering a special, the Premium package (4K, no ads, multiple devices, offline downloads) for $17.99/month for 12 months if you sign up at the start.

I noticed that Adult Swim has its own channel within Max, but I haven't explored it yet.

One thing I've noticed is that when I've had Binge in the past, the HBO shows there were mostly just in HD. They are in 4K here, and it's really a beautiful quality 4K, too.

oh I couldnt see a channel? I was searching for a couple of series (Aqua teen hunger force, Frisky Dingo, venture bros) and they werent coming up.

Yep current HBO seasons will finish their run on foxtel I believe (white lotus, pitt, righteous gemstones) then all hbo stuff will be on Max exclusively.
