When Lloyd offered to help King mid season I thought that got the slap down it deserved - players can't go off and work with outside coaches during the season, it's a recipe for disaster. As far as the off season goes, why stand in his way? Players in the NFL & NBA - ultra professional leagues - often have players going to work out with specific professionals and coaches in order to develop all the time. If Lloyd wants to help him over summer there is absolutely no reason for the club to stand in the way.

Just to play devil’s advocate, he is still a contracted player in the off season so I would imagine he may still have to get permission?

This is probably a fair point. I would still have allowed it purely because id encourage this sort of introspection from a player but as a holistic consideration its probably reasonable to say no in season. Issue is that the saints didnt say "not right now" they said "not ever".

I think it's good we're keeping the media out of Max's problems. Media personalities who become goal kicking coaches as a side hussle place more pressure on the forward players.

Lloyd would be asked every week on the Sunday footy show if he becomes Max's personal coach. No player needs a running commentary.

Find someone who will break his technique down over summer and one preferably NOT in the media. Please and thank you!

Doesn't matter who we get to help him, its been poorly handled by the club and is a bad reflection on the development at our club. Ratts made himself looking silly by saying he doesn't have technical flaws and we have the skill set inside the club to fix it, He does have technical flaws and who ever has been helping him is doing a bad job . Lets hope this isn't how our development for the rest of the list is handled

Speak for yourself Mowman, if the people in charge watch the footy show and feel they need to go out and make changes then they SHOULD be sacked. That would be seriously embarrassing and if you think anyone from any club other than ours that you idolise would do that your are kidding yourself.

On First Crack they showed footage of Max kicking for goal in his first season in 2020 and his technique looked better than it does now with no spinning of the ball, keeping his head over the ball and kicking through it with momentum so it appears that his technique has gotten worse rather than better.

It looked like he was making some improvement last year after he had the yips earlier in the season but this year his kicking for goal has regressed again and it seems as bad now as it has ever been. At least his shocking goal kicking display on Friday night should force them into fixing this issue either internally or externally rather than just sweeping it under the carpet and pretending that everything is OK and there is nothing to see here.

You belittle anyone that stands up for the club, you genuinely don't seem to say anything good about the club and just latch on to anything negative in the media that is said about us.

You seem to think anyone that doesn't just incessently bag the club like you is some kind of idiot that only says positive things, you wouldnt notice criticism unless it's vicious, you might not realise this but not everyone likes to just bag club people labelling them idiots or snake oil salesmen.

Anyway looks like you'll have a fun off-season on here bagging the club out every day, what joy, hopefully you don't get banned again although of course that wasn't your fault was it.

He was probably pretty happy with the work Roughead and Rath did to completely turn his accuracy around last year.

Not sure if anyone else was watching 360 but Ratten totally backed away from keeping it in-house. Said the emotions were running high post-match and that he is big on defending Max. Club is open to using someone externally and will discuss it over the next few weeks.
