Such a breath of fresh air to see a confident kid come into the club & speak with such authority instead of shy insecure players we’ve recently recruited. I can definitely see a change in the type of players we are targeting. We are now specifically after strong personalities that demand high standards. This kid has Nick Riewoldt traits & that I am sure about. This recruitment is a line in the sand moment for mine. Stoked.

Well you can thank me, as I recruited him.

This, but with 5+ years of elite junior development, a lifetime understanding of the game & an athletic package second to none...

Bro is mega pumped!
You have now convinced me that Max is Plugger/Riewioldt and Carey combined!

How fitting that the man who will finally lead us to the holy grail is named...
KING!
All hail the Max Factor!
Yes he can also clear up pimples and provide Maximum protection from the evil Sun's rays! Just ask Ben in 2 years!

Question St Kilda supporters. Given Max King had an injury that kept him out and Ben King had a good year. Do you think Ben King would have been safer option than Max?

What’s your opinion. Both seem like will be great players

we'll have both in a few years so it won't matter

Safer. Maybe. Lower risk, lower reward.

I think this draft has most excitment that precious drafts. King brothers, Lukosius, Sam Walsh, Rankine will be gems to watch.

For me I’d rather have Ben than Max. But that’s just me

Both should remain loyal. Both have great characters from their interviews
I sort of want Suns recruits to stay there purely because I'm sick of all these homesick bullshit, I get that some are really homesick others just want out of that rabble and that's the only excuse.

I think they will start a new culture, three top recruits I can see starting a new standard at the club. Stewie Dew too will create good environment. Leigh Matthews said AFL players want to play in the football heartland.

I hope Ben stays too. I think will quickly establish himself in Suns 22. Max will but think will take bit of time too.

Ben is a round 1 starter. Max needs to heal his ACL PROPERLY and at all cost shouldn't be rushed, hes here for 15 years not 1 season

I'm with you, I think those 3 recruits have it in their hands to forge a strong identity at the club, and there's no tradition to speak of at GC so it won't take much to do it, just ruthlessness and zero tolerance.

The great shame is there's no massive latent fan base to awaken the moment they do put it all together. They in the wild frontier and they may well get a few rugby fans jumping on the bandwagon but that won't translate to tens of thousands for a long time after those recruits have retired.

But if the fans do their part, they'll have a very loveable team up there, with a galaxy of stars and a wily coach.
I'd prefer to see them succeed than any of the "Big Four" personally, especially the poisonous toads at Essendon and Carlton who can fit in irrelevance for eternity AFAIC.

From what i read it seems that Max has just shaded his brother over the years with a wider range of skills. Probably a match winner. And he just seems a bit more alpha. More confident and outspoken. Impressions....that's all. Both seem wonderful lads, and maybe Ben is more reliable over time. But Max the stronger of the two despite his injury.

I think max also has a slight edge with his agility

Mmm yeah winning the rising star in his first year in the worst team and being moved to every position on the field since then. Definitely of the same caliber of struggling, good one.

Read my earlier post; “since his first year when he looked like a 250 gamer he has lost all confidence”

so he had a good first season? ok. paddy mccartin hasnt had a good season full stop. in fact he hasnt had two good games strung together. you could count on one hand his good games.

Which is what I posted re; Weitering.

Anthony Banik had a great 1st season too
