It seems to be a whole bunch of people saying that King is a good
Player who is going to be a very good player, and one person trying to pour cold water on everything he does

Ok, but what is the debate here? I presume I am your cold water man. But I am also one of your whole bunch of people who say King is good and going to be very good. At Least.

So where is the debate you are talking about?

3 goals 1 behind 7 disposals zero goal assist against the weakest non covid effected team in living memory.

An “elite” player like Max will be embarrassed by that performance. 😂
Also while being doubled and sometimes triple teamed, he still marks the ball or brings it to ground whereas if Lynch gets doubled team and he starts letting the fist fly.

I don't think he'll ever reach much more than he's currently doing whilst playing at St Kilda with their current game plan.

The poor guy doesn't stand a chance.

He's 21 and scrawny, and they continually bomb it on his head against 3-4 big defenders. It's a borderline miracle that he gets it as much as does.
Not all teams can have a mass exodus, If that happened at any other team they would of folded but because it's the Suns, the AFL will prop them up and go again. What happens why Gil retires?
Plus Max is a huge Saints fan, why would he leave?

LOL. I would think Ratten the coach will be delighted that St Kilda had 11 goalkickers this week.

Just to be clear when is the cut off for a young player? He’s 22 in July. Is the cut off for a young player 23 or 24? I just want to know because if he’s still averaging the same stats in 2 years as he is now I don’t wanna here this HOF level fwd stuff again. This would be his peak.
Well considering he missed his whole draft year and and pretty much his whole first season in the afl i would say his doing pretty well . They say 100 games before players play there most consistent football

DING DING DING

We have a winner

For some ridiculous reason we have a Tigers fan who has an agenda against one of the best young kids in the game, leaving everyone else confused because there seems to be no logical reason on why he would have an issue with him.

Maybe we need a Tom Lynch thread so we can talk about how he like beating up on shite sides.

I see so the 3cm King is taller than Lynch makes the difference between a 14-10 free kick count and 12-20. So 3cm = 12 free kicks difference.

Looks at 9 cm taller Mason Cox expecting to see a +36 free kick differential…..sees +1. 😱😱

How does that work? 🤨
Eh Lynch gives away a few frees with his faux tough guy stuff. Take that away and see how close they'd be.

Don’t even give this Tigers bloke the time of day, he’s comparing a 29yr old to a 21yr old…

He’s just pissed Richmond aren’t the talk of the town, I thought the 5 years they were would’ve been enough, clearly not.

You forget we need a key forward. Just doing my best to depress the market. 😉

83 posts in this thread, trying to convince people that a 21 year old key forward that hasn't played 50 games but has kicked 56 goals in his last 21 isn't that good...

Might be time for a new hobby cobba

17 humourless posts trying to suppress the free speech of well meaning posters….as pathetic as that is from you brother birdpeasant, you are still as welcome to make a fool of yourself here as anyone else as far as I am concerned. 😁

He’s great around the ground but having a goal kicking accuracy of 52.5% is ordinary. Accuracy is the hardest thing to fix and might not be able to do it.

Until he does something exceptional in finals He’s not comparable to any greats even if he starts off his career better.

Where are the straws.

If Max is lucky he will get his chance to see what he can do in the second half of some grand finals.

The Tigers registered 29.22 v 8.9 when they got their second half chances at the biggest of dances. 😍

So I am not sure we are going to be too concerned at a random 4.8 v 10.3 interstate home and away match in a season we are unlikely to contend. 😁

What possie did you play in those flags mate?

What possie did you play in those flags mate?

In 2017 I was running half back Bachar Houli, with several desperate spoils in between cutting Adelaide to ribbons. 😍

In 2019 I was the man on debut, Marlion Pickett, setting up goals with vintage blind turns out of the middle. 😍

In 2020, well, who could I be other than Dusty, with 4 amazing goals. I was almost Jayden Short in that, but I ask you, how could I not be Dusty? 😍😍😍

Were you Winmar or Lockett in your flags? Oh sorry, I forgot….😂😂

Btw is career average is the following. It’s not that great. Not sure how you guys are saying he is more elite at his age as the other great forwards of the game.

Apart from 3 of the 4 important key forward stats in that photo being above average to elite. who cares if he doesn't find a lot of the ball this early in his career, he doesn't need to.

Not even 2 goals a game is pretty bad for a key fwd, not sure why that’s considered above average.

a 21 year old key forward elite for marks inside 50 & contested marks. Plus being above average in goals per game is pretty good. Also a third of his games coming in shortened quarters. Goal accuracy should fix itself, he's shown for large patches of seasons he's a reliable kick

because statistcally it is in the above average bracket? only 26 players in the league average 2 goals a game this season, and only 19 when filtered as "Key Forward" on AFL.com including 3 players who have played have 3 games or less. So 16 players, which is less than 1 player per team on average.

Careers are a bit different but he is ahead of other young forwards like Naughton (1.7 when adjusted for his 1 season), Curnow (1.6), Larkey (1.7) and is just behind McKay (2.0). Not to say he is better than these guys but it just shows that young key forwards are seem to rarely average 2 goals a game early in their career. To use it as a knock against him is yet not others seems odd
