Meh doesn't even look like Max Payne, lame.

Might as well have just called it something else, rather than cashing in on the Max Payne name with some fat old dude running around in Brazil.

It's the endless metaphors that maketh the Max. As long as that's intact it's all good.

Bit worried about the lack of rain tho

Hope they piss off the dream sequences tho. That one where you jumped from black platform to black platform in the dark, was one of the most suck arsed moments in gaming

No, wrong, I don't think much of it, or any GTA game.

I'm simply saying that you can't come in here and say "GTA SUCKED PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!" as if thats the consensus, it's simply your opinion.

On the money. It's not my taste, but I appreciate it for what it is.

Much like MGS4 - technical masterpiece in terms of Sound, Graphics, Character Animations etc. just not my style and boring as bat poo to play

Concur.
Those dream sequences were part of why Payne was such a great game, it stepped out of the usual. A great way to flesh out Payne's character thru a sort of "mini-game" where you had to get thru Payne's nightmares, and thru that understand his pains/character even more.
If the game was just all shooting it would be ghey.
The whole storyboard gamestyle, shocking ending, and dream sequences, were all epic.
I still get chills when i remember trying to get thru those dream sequences with the crying baby in the background, the shrinking hallways etc.

Kerrby, just because someone says "that's YOUR opinion", it does not mean that their opinion is different to yours. I don't understand how you came to that conclusion?

I personally thought that GTAIV was amazing to begin with, but after a couple of missions it became boring and I never got around to finishing it. I started playing again recently and had a lot of fun just flying the assault helicopter around.

I dunno about that, IMO Max Payne was one of the most in-depth games in terms of story substance.

If there aren't the comic book style story boards and the real film noir dark style then I can see fail on the horizon.

From what I have read I believe it could be. Should look a fair bit better though considering that the games scale should be smaller so they will hopefully cram more into the graphics of the game.

Don't believe so. I'm sure Biggy or Mancey will mention that it is on the XBLA though.

Lucky for me with BC(Now I just gotta go BUY the games, pretty sure both of mine were pirated).

If you're desperate then I'd recommend the PC versions of the game.

Never said it wasn't. Love the max payne story. Basically why i mentioned the fact, that as long as it contained the metaphor heavy style, it'd always be a max payne game no matter what the locale.

I didn't mind the story content of the dream sequences, its just that some were plain terrible and a pita to do, ie the dark platform jumping one. Everyone died at least once or twice there...for no real tangible addition to the game imo

I have them for xbox tho. Just FYI for anyone interested in having another crack of the oldies pre release of MP3, both are BC on the 360. So if you can find a copy cheap go for your life

Sorta preferred playing them on PC tbh...for whatever reason

Hmm, I guess I just thought you meant that metaphoical style over the comic book style story boards and the real film noir dark style would still be Max Payne, which IMO there is no way it would be if that wasn't there. That is why I added with my second comment.

That is pretty much gaming Mance. Sometimes you get good moments from some of the more out-there game elements/sequences, sometimes not so. A bit like God of War with it's platformer/puzzle elements, some were/are great, some weren't. Basically they will always be there though.

I just spent 2400 to get them both, and they dont work on my X360 because it's an NTSC console. Grrr. Would have to transfer them from the HDD to a PAL X360, not that I own one or willing to buy one.

Hoping PS3 Store has them available for download.

Do PS2 discs work on PS3? My console isn't one of those ones that was released with the BC drive built-in. But with all those system updates that occur, have they, or will they, start making PS2 games compatible that way?

Eh how does that work? If you have a NTSC console should it not download the NTSC version?

I erred by downloading it from my AUST profile account, where my credit card is stored. I'd have to i guess delete the 8 gigs i just downloaded, buy an xbox credit token from a store, then go into my USA profile account, add the token credits thru there, then re-download them that way.

I guess that's do-able. Tho it'd still be a grrr blowing $33 twice.

Are you able to buy credit from a shop, like EB Games, then enter it into a USA profile, and use it there? Will it let you?

Don't know mate, you could try ringing up the XBOX live helpline and getting a credit?
