So are we or are we not allowed to shepherd?

The rule is not clear

The ball was free, in front of both of them and he took out the player instead of the ball.... I agree it is soft, but they have pulled blokes up for this in the past.

The umpires lost me in the first minute when someone was pinged for holding the ball because "he grabbed a loose ball". It is going to be a long season for this cr@p i think..

Only sheep from the looks of things opti!
I am slowly considering giving up ont his game mate, if i didnt love collingwood i would of walked away from the AFL entirely

Vlad and his cronies have ****ed the best game in the world up very hard

He handpassed in front of himself so he could evade a tackler, nick davis is a master of it.

The ball was withing 5 meters of the contest and maxwell was clearing the way for the other collingwood player (i believe it was pendlebury) to take clean possession.

This is a rubbish suspension for any player, and 3 weeks makes it absolute horse shit.

edit i agree huddo this year will be a long season of umpire rubbish i think

Disgusted....

disgrace, its getting too soft, that was a fair bump.... accidental head.....

10% increase for 1 week suspension in the last 3 years...

its bollocks....

I have.

The only problem with that is he'll end up with 4. We don't have a good record with challenges or the tribunal for that matter and we want Nick back a early as we can. I would like it challenged but i think it would blow up in our face. The tribunal is obviously out to make a point, what that is i don't know.

We can Appeal and I reckon we will

Negligent, High Contact, High Impact

I don't think we will go to the tribunal because Negligent is the lowest rating, and we couldn't argue the High contact (because he got him in the jaw) or High Impact (because he broke his jaw).

The carry over points and bad record is what did him. Would have been 3 reduced to 2 otherwise.

He was unlucky to get him in the jaw, which wasn't his intention.:(

I totaly understand! It's a shame what's becoming of the greatest game in the world!

Who cares?
The AFL and the MRP have to start getting questioned on their ridiculous decisions.
If they can prove he had intent then all well and good, we cop an extra week.
The fact is I would have friggin QC's down their right now putting an injunction on the MRP until they justify their decision with some hard and fast facts and then compare the 3 weeks with some relevant decision over the last 5 years.

**** em. I'm sick of the *****.

That's the problem, the tribunal or the mrp don't have to justify their decisions, and we are not alowed to use past examples in defence. But i understand your anger!

It's a disgrace.

How can a bloke be suspended for something that happened right in front of the central umpire, boundary umpire and prob the closest central umpire. They did not report him or thought it warranted a free kick for f**k sake.

It is an absolute disgrace.

So they where talking about the hit last year on Murphy

So, to get this straight, Dopey Irish from the scum gets 4 weeks for king hitting and kicking a player while he's down, while a tough, in play sheppard which was slightly high and only caused injury cause the player's awareness was Kositchzke like, gets 3 weeks.

Guess we know the most physical thing you can do in our game now is tackle.

ITS OFFICIAL, THE HIP AND SHOULDER IS DEAD. :thumbsd::(

Be that as it may, would someone kindly explain to me what precisely was negligent about what Nickwell did?

I guess "accidental conduct" isn't quite as catchy.

I had a similar convo with the old man about umpires last year.

Basically everyone in their job has someone they have to answer too, the umpires the MRP and the AFL dont. No player no official and now at grounds apparently no fan is allowed to voice their disapproval at the quality they are doing their job.

What is the result of this? Umpires, the MRP and the AFL doing what they want when the want knowing they can without question. meaning they do a shit job and they dont or wont give a ****.

Like i said i go to the football as i love collingwood, but thanks to Vlad and his cronies the game i used to love is no more and its difficult to watch and bear at times.

If they continue to umpire like they did on Saturday and they tribunal make decisions like they have today i will not be watching or attending any other game of football aprt from collingwood games for both my sanity and the fact that they dont deserve my money to do a shit job

Mayb if Nick had of drove the kid to the hospital it wouldn't have been considerd 'negligent'!

is there any chance he could be let off , if not what a shithouse decision by the tribunal that bump was a beauty it will be terrible if he gets 3 weeks:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

stupid tribunal:mad:

What do you mean if???

He ran straight at a player, looking straight at the player. He hit him and broke the KIDS jaw( accidental or not).

Did he have to do it??? NO.

He has done it before and will do it again.

Hopefully next time, it's J. Brown he goes after. It might give him some credibility. He keeps going after young, small players!

He ran straight past the ball.

Poor effort.

Sniper!
BS - It's called a Shepperd where he hit hard and accidentally caught him in the Jaw

Will this be for Season proper or just NAB Cup Games

I love a good hip and shoulder. Unfortunately, he caught McGinnity in the face.

If you had your jaw broken by someone who failed to follow the rules of a hip and shoulder i would expect you would want some penalty for the fella
