Possible Caulfield Cup prospect Al Aasy going around as favourite at Newbury tonight against Logician

Doesn't strike me as the type that will come to Australia. Probably needs to lose to head here - otherwise will be looking at much better things. Pretty rare for Shadwell horses to come out too unless purchased by locals.

Does seem too good to come here but Haggas seemed pretty bullish about sending it over the other week after it walked in at Newbury. Do get the sense that he has got a taste for the easy Aussie dollars and could be sending some good ones down

Has he sent many over in the Spring before? I don't remember them if he has.

LOCKINGE DAY at Newbury tonight - the first G1 for older horses and PALACE PIER looks like a complete and utter certainty as his price suggests. The field is absolutely horrendous outside him and is barely G2 level in his absence. Should just win on his way to winning the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot

The Carnarvon is another Commonwealth Classic trial - happy to be with the 6f specialist CREATIVE FORCE over the Queen's Tactical who drops back from 7f.

AL AASY could be $5 Caulfield Cup fave if he gets the job done against form hype horse and 2019 St Leger winner Logician in the Aston Park.

There is also a Fillies Oaks Trial, where Marquand/Haggas send out SEA EMPRESS who defeated Teona on debut last year (third in Musidora at York midweek).

Newmarket also has a Fillies Oaks trial, the Fairway Stakes. Happy to play around the two faves here and spec TASMAN BAY who was third to Dante winner Hurricane Lane last start.

Don't think so, Raheen House? the only one that comes to mind. Get the feeling his Autumn success is making him much more keen to now though

Raheen House was an Oz Bloodstock purchase prior to it getting flogged by Mustajeer in the Slowbor - so he wouldn't have brought it out of his own accord.

Yeah couldnt remember if they had already bought that.

Got to start somewhere though, had he sent anything over for the Autumn before Addeybb?

Seems keen to target the Spring with something though and isn't afraid of sending a good one out

I dount it - pretty much only Godolphin had sent horses over for the Autumn before Addeyb came last Autumn.

Considering Shadwell have basically shutdown their Australian operations it is possible that Al Aasy may come out for the cup. In the past if Shadwell had a cups horse it would be prepared by Lindsay Park. If Shadwell still has an interest in winning the cup then no reason for Haggas not to bring it out.

Almoonqith is the last I can remember them sending out - and they have a fair production line of ones that could have been competitive if sent here.

He was sent to Lindsay Park like all the others they sent out. Considering Shadwell no longer has LP train for them I thought the possibility of them changing tact to raiders could be possible.

Eh if Haggas is indicating one of theirs could be one to come out here then that's more telling then any historical stats for mine.

Ilaraab another of his i wouldnt be surprised to see come out here. In fact most of his entered for the Hardwicke will be worth keeping an eye on

Yeah I guess my point was they have had more than enough good ones in the UK over the years and shown no real interest in winning the race with them.
