With neither Ireland nor Scotland in the World Cup (shame), both are taking advantage of the opportunity to help WC team to acclimate to the conditions through ODIs. First up is the Irish tri-series against Bangladesh and the West Indies.

Ireland: William Porterfield (c); Mark Adair; Andy Balbirnie; George Dockrell; Josh Little; Andy McBrine; Barry McCarthy; James McCollum; Tim Murtagh; Kevin O'Brien; Boyd Rankin; Paul Stirling; Lorcan Tucker; Gary Wilson

Bangladesh: Mashrafe Mortaza (c); Abu Jayed; Farhad Reza; Liton Das; Mahmudullah; Mehidy Hasan; Mohammad Mithun; Mohammad Saifuddin; Mossadek Hossain; Mushifiqur Rahim; Mustafizur Rahman; Nayeem Hasan; Rubel Hossain; Sabbir Rahman; Shakib Al Hasan; Souyma Sarkar; Tamim Iqbal; Taskin Ahmed; Yasir Ali

West Indies: Jason Holder (c); Fabian Allen; Sunil Ambris; Darren Bravo; John Campbell; Jonathan Carter; Roston Chase; Sheldon Cottrell; Shane Dowrich; Shannon Gabriel; Shai Hope; Ashley Nurse; Raymond Reifer; Kemar Roach

West Indies are 0/83 at drinks in the first ODI against Ireland.

Windies have really uncovered one with Campbell I think. He has the game to be test and odi class. Don’t really have a problem with him missing the World Cup - to have any chance we have to attack all out so that means Gayle/Lewis/Hope have to be the opening options but it’s good to know Campbell will be there afterwards.

Switched off after the tons from Campbell & Hope so didn't see the rest. Glad the West Indies are looking aligned and ready for the world cup, but pretty disappointed with that performance from Ireland.

Ireland are kind of reminding me of the Socceroos - came good on the back of a golden generation, but struggling to find adequate replacements from past heroes.

Bangladeshi's chased it down with ease, pretty impressive performance by the looks. They're going under the radar a bit before the cup.

The move by Bangladesh over the last 18 months or so to move Shakib Al Hasan to 3 I really like. If they could find someone who could accelerate the innings a bit more to bat 6 or 7 they'd have a very dangerous batting line-up. Mithun, Mahmudallah and to a lesser extent Sabbir Rahman are all more your accumulators but they are going to have to bat 5-7.

Shai Hope has now opened in 6 one day internationals.

He has 4 centuries, a half century, and as of this moment, an average of about 217

What's your order looking like for the world Cup? Do you try to get Lewis back to opening or do you back in Shai with Gayle?

Geez it’s a tough quandary isn’t it. Hope has been magnificent, but the flip side is that because of some of the gaps in our side we have to play balls to the wall all out attacking cricket. We basically need to take it on like the kiwis did last time.
Hetmeyer has to return somewhere too. Maybe for the sake of stability if we do have a bad start I’d look at:

Gayle
Lewis
Hope (wk)
Bravo
Hetmeyer
Chase
Holder
Russell
Nurse maybe
Roach
Gabriel

Cottrell 12th.

Another steady and consistent batting performance by Bangladesh. Mustafizur back in form too so probably about as good a preparation for the cup as they could have oped for.

Am a massive fan of Darren Bravo, but he's been in pretty poor ODI form of late. Danger of missing their first XI for the cup.
