After thinking about it, and really having 24 hours not to get over my initial emotions, i have come to the conclusion that maybe it is not bomber.
All that the he can do is give the players a strategy, a game plan to work with. It is then up to the players to put this into practice. Its not him that goes and kicks the ball over to the opposition, or doesn't bother to chase hard.
The problem lies with the players and their ability to adapt to the plan bomber says. Its a laziness that must be wiped out. Nothing that bomber can do or say will get rid of this. It is up to the players to get their fingers out.
You hear after a game (and yes ive done it and said it) that bomber was out coached, he doesn't give it his all etc etc. Maybe in the coaches box changes are being made, team set ups edited, but at the end of the day thats all he can do. Its the players that are the ones that put it into action.
Instead of criticizing the coach, how about we have a good hard look at the playing list. At the end of the day they are the ones who are playing. Im not saying our list is shit and we need a massive clean out. Rather, the players need to sit down and discuss the reasons why they can't do what bomber is saying.
In the end, its just mental. As soon as the players can get rid of this then our culture will change. Remember Blight and Ayres got sacked and then went on to coach premiership sides. There coaching is still the same, the difference is the playing list (i mean gosh we had Ablett, Brownless etc so the quality is there)
Football is 99%, mental 1% physical. Im sticking with bomber, everyone can feel free to degrade him and delittle him all they want. But they will miss the key point that the players are mentally weak, and until that is changed then we will never be any good. and will continue to stuff our seasons up.
