More likely that with his patchy injury record so far the club would want to see how well he manages over a full year and from Mayne's perspective if he lives up to his potential over the next couple of years he will be in a position to demand a hefty re-signing fee come 2012. Win win.

He is a classy player, hard at it and could kick 50+ in a season if he gets 20 games in. He is a player that leads by example and traditional body on the line stuff.

Whoever hasn't watched the Mayne interview with Joel Houghton on the Fremantle website definitely should! At least just to see Mayne's reaction at Joel formerly supporting West Coast, it's great! Can see Mayney being in the leadership group one day. Mayne, Suban and Palmer sounds great to me.
