I dont know how we can squeeze him into our forward line and who gets dropped for him but after his last 5 founds in the VFL he has earned a call up. Not much else he can do really apart from put on more weight. He is now the leading goal kicker in the VFL which is rather fantastic considering he missed a few games with that wrist surgery he had.

In his last five games he has kicked bags of 5,4,2,4 and 5. Whats more impressing is his accuracy on goals, during that period he only kicked 1 behind.

His goal accuracy for the season 33 goals 7 behind rather impressive.

Still not ready IMO. You can't rely on crumbing and snaps like he does at afl level. He can't take contested marks. Maybe give him a game against the Saints.
Thats the only knock on him. To be honest don't really care how our forwards kick goals as long as they kick them. If he can improve his defensive game could you imagine a 202cm crumbing forward at the feet of Jack and Griffiths. Rather dangerous if you ask me.

Either way he deserves a game this year to see what hes got

Would definitely give him a game against the Saints IF we lose to Adelaide.
Otherwise I cant see him getting a game this year, fingers crossed he has a big pre-season though and gains a few kgs and look out 2015!

It is great he keeps putting his hand up but a spot needs to be there. I also believe it is things other than kicking goals and converting the coaches want him to work on. It may depend if he has progressed in these other areas.

I would love to see him play seniors but we are not in a position to toy with form.

He couldn't get a kick in a half paced NAB Cup game. The crumbing part should be a nice extra part to his game, rather than the main part that it is.

He's too weak at the moment to do it. No rush on him for mine. We have griff playing well and out side performs best with just the 2 talls.

Let him develop in the twos and let him win the goal kicking.

Though we will need to play him if griff broke his hand or whatever.

Dont think its fair to judge in his NAB game. Didnt he come in with post season surgery on his ankle? He looked like a player with no fitness base what so ever. I understand his too weak I just feel we need to give him a taste of it even if its only one game. Dont want to loose him to lower ranked team. Kid will be a star!

I can see him performing that Jeremy Cameron role, but he's still just too skinny to be a target inside 50. He hasn't even turned 20 yet, so I'd give him the benefit of another preseason before chucking him in.

Part of me also wonders if he can develop into a Fyfe type tall midfielder, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

More like a Roughead
Daniel Connors with 31... is that OUR Daniel Connors?
It is yes, kicked 5 against Casey, hasn't played a game without kicking a goal this year

Ffs the nab game was 12 weeks ago, he s shown plenty since , he s due

It's the style he plays. He can't mark. The NAB game showed what will happen to a forward that can't mark.

If you're happy for him to get beaten up, well play him. Personally I'd prefer he'd have another pre-season. Get to 98-100kg where he will be able to compete in contests. He's going to be a bloody star but he just isn't ready.

All that is excluding the fact he doesn't defend at all so we can sit back and watch Adelaide's defenders waltz out of our forward line at will.

We only have to look to Friday night to see what happens when you play a skinny take too early. Did Daniher touch the footy?

Who do we drop for him? Griffiths or Riewoldt?

obviously have not been watching vfl lately. been taking contested marks every week. majority of goals are coming from set shots

I was there just last week. He took 1. Who do you want to drop for him? Griff or Jack?

Just look at Daniher for a great example of why we should be patient.

So your judging his marking on one game? great sample size there. Not saying he should debut, just pointing out that you should watch more games before commenting on players

Not one game just that last week was the most recent one where he took one contested mark against a bunch of short people.

As I've said he will be a gun but let's be patient. We don't need him yet so don't rush him and break him because he isn't close to being ready to play as a big guy.

Add on top of that his defensive game isn't up to scratch.

Agree. Still need to get a AFL tank and run out game that is required at that level.

No point in destroying McBean's body by playing him in the seniors every chance we get like Essendrugs are with Daniher
You should actually go watch a vfl game... Lol
