Macca's kicking mechanics are far too flawed to fully maximise his aerial ability. The true shame is his inability (or perhaps the coaching staff's) to fix the flaw, when it is hardly something that can't be done.

Enjoy watching McCarthy while it lasts. He simply is not a good enough kick for AFL football. Tries hard, presents and marks OK, but mechanically cannot kick the ball. He's history. He'll retain his spot because Mooney is an idiot but the end is nigh. Playfair or Nathan Ablett will replace him in the coming weeks.
