awesome! getting both makes up for a less than desirable trade week!

How on Earth did we manage to get both Watson and McCarthy? Amazing.

i dont actually go for the GC you clown!

McCarthy - 196 cm, good pace and drive off halfback, more of a 3rd tall at this stage but if he puts on some size he could be a star. Very composed and neat disposal. Can pinch hit as a forward. Certainly a couple of years away from playing AFL football.
Watson - big boy at 195cm and over 100kg, needs to slim down a bit but will always be a massive unit. Good defender, reads the play well and has a cannon of a left leg and would be one of the best kicks in the draft. Needs to work on one on one contests. Has spent some time up forward and done it well.
Mitchell - 198cm unit, nice size and will fill out well. Good pair of hands and a good work ethic. Probably needs to work on his field kicking but he has a decent set shot. Missed most of the year with injury but kicked 5 goals in the TAC cup grand final. Impressive last year so a good pick up.
Aren't you glad you got that pick from us rather than the bullshit talk before the draft you would rather let Jacobs go for nothing

McCarthy rides draft rollercoaster"I was at home watching the names come up on the computer,” McCarthy explained. “In fact there were two computers going at the one time on the table, but my name popped up on the other computer rather than the one I was watching."
“Suddenly the people on the other side of the table went nuts and I was just sitting there. Finally my name came up on my computer, just as I started getting smacked around the head. I was just speechless."
“I’m rapt, couldn’t be happier. It’s something I’m really looking forward to,” said McCarthy, who will carry his kit bag through the doors of Visy Park for the first time next week.
“I’m moving to Carlton, one of the biggest clubs in Melbourne . . . and I know about the Glenelg connection with ‘Sticks’ (Stephen Kernahan) ‘Gibbsy’ (Bryce Gibbs) and (Mark) Austin. It’s been a good run and hopefully I can continue that run.”
