Agree on C'Creek, you need to have success to attract some successful people, absolutely none of that on field, the future looks bleak. Clubs not voting in Maryborough a real head scratcher, surely club's would have their doubts on Creek's long term sustainability.

Avoca and Giants both just need to get their senior footy grades back up to scratch. Everything else looks good. Both could use a strong, well credentialed playing leader in order for the senior footy to take the next step. When was the last time Avoca played finals?

Dunolly is shaky, they have done a great job on getting back from rock bottom, but seems like there is always a decent number of players in and out. Still would love to know what happened to co-coach Jack Merrin who departed mid year for Bridgewater. Also rumors of Jordy Waldron and Bailey Hall not getting along with the senior footy hierarchy - Their best ruck and key forward playing twos.

Lexton dropped off this year but they were regular finals team before that, though just making up the numbers. They have picked the new senior coach from outside the club, expect him to be a breath of fresh air, attract some new faces and get them back in playing finals footy. Think they would of only missed finals maybe 3 times since joining the league in 2011.

Maldon seem to bottom right out then save up the cash and give it a decent nudge for a few years. Not sure if Wust is the leader that will get them back to fighting for a top 4 spot though.
Firstly, I don't care either way and Trentham voted YES. So don't come at me.

But Maryborough could hardly field 1 senior side last year let alone 2.

Why is it thought that changing leagues means they magically have 44 players (needs to be more like 50 to account for availability) every week to pick from? Where are they pulling them from? Especially after a year in recess when players have moved on - There is 0 chance in hell of getting every one of them back.

I get they are a proud club and it is sad to see them in recess - They should have been given 10000x more help from BFNL and weren't. IMO there are too many clubs within 40-50km radius of Maryborough with no 'big' country town anywhere close meaning there will always be a shortage of numbers throughout. There can't be 2 teams in Maryborough, it just wont work.
But how were they all of a sudden going to become a club with 2 football sides and all netball grades again just by getting voted into MCDFNL?

So you won. Well done. Now you're in the gun. Nobody likes Trentham anyway.
The coach has been asked to leave his last 3 clubs. Good luck.
How dare you - I like Trentham.
So what you just said is factually incorrect. Please be sure to fact-check all of your future posts before you make a big fool of yourself like you just have lol you silly duffa.
I hereby sentence you to no posting in this thread until 2028 when my Sainters have just completed their three-peat.
Case dismissed!

And you are right Addo has been asked to leave his previous clubs. It's because I was spreading false rumours about him knowing he was our next premiership coach.
Got them all hook, line and sinker lol all while Addo was at Sunday church and doing his prayers while giving back to all the local charities and feeding the homeless. Such a great man.

I just saw on the RDFL forum that Talbot has signed Dylan Tarczon, and there’s a rumor about Tommy Alkemade potentially joining as well.

If this is accurate, it’s huge news! Tarczon would undoubtedly be the standout player in the competition, and Tommy is also a highly skilled player, close behind him in talent.

It’s hard to imagine how the club can support such extensive recruiting. There must be some kind of connection, whether it’s a player or a coach.

Honestly can’t see them funding this so must be a solid connection there

Someone must know

It looks like Talbots is following what teams like Carisbrook, Trentham, Natte, and Harcourt have been doing for the past five years. When a team that has been struggling starts to do well, other clubs in the league often react negatively.

The word from the caravan park suggests that there must be a strong club atmosphere if they’ve managed to keep their entire team from last year and retain all there locals also which have battled it out over the past 10years

Maybe reiny Gunther’s cardboard is paying off finally.
I grew up playing in that cardboard on a Saturday.

Simpler times, great memories. Those were the days. 😀

What type of players are they? Talbot lacked a bit of speed when I watched them against Navarre. Just needed a little more composure to win.

I saw they recruited another ruckman, does that mean big Sikora is out the door? He was a fair lump of a lad!

I wasn’t impressed with Sikora after watching him play against the Giants. I wouldn’t have offered him $20 for a pie and a coke after that performance.

On the other hand, I’ve heard great things about Tarczon. He plays with the tenacity of a midfield powerhouse, similar to Patty crisp style, but with Maynard’s mentality. I’ve also seen Alkemade play, and he really stood out in the RDFL,he easily racked up 40+ possessions

That huge ruckman Talbot had this season was below average at best! Watched 4 games this season and he provided nothing next to nothing. A bloke of that size should dominate this league. Reckon he took maybe one contested mark each game and was often getting beaten even in the ruck and especially when he tired. Would love to know what Talbot paid him because he wouldn’t be worth a quarter of that.

Probably the reason they went and got McDermott from Beaufort. Would be a much better ruckman and probably a quarter (or less) of the price. I think he may of been in the pipelines though for a while, probably from back when Crouch was there.

It seems that McDermott is linked to the football club through friendships formed at work. I would assume that, given his age and the desire to achieve some success before the end of his career, don’t even think money would be on the cards for him.

On another note where are other clubs at recruiting Talbot seem to be the only ones making a move forward is anyone picking up any guns ?

Tarczon has just gone Facebook official on the Talbot page.

Its an impressive resume. 💪 🙌
They’re putting in a lot of effort.

I’m aware of individuals who are familiar with Tarczon, and they’ve indicated that there’s a link explaining his presence there. Apparently, financial gain isn’t his main goal rather, he’s driven by success

Sikora loves his cash he wouldn’t have played for anything less than $400 and can guarantee you most definitely not worth it. Yes he played VFL but I was skeptical of his ability back then. The amount of clubs he has played at over the last 15 years shows he is only in it for the $$

Humour not your strong suit.

Little birdy tells me $1500 a game and $6k sign on for another riddell player not announced yet.
Thats $30k for the year on 1 player. Maybe the Talbot faithful were right! The other players must seriously love the club to have 18 of them playing for free 😂

Funny how quick word spreads.
Hope the auditors don’t hear any of these rumours 😜

Don’t understand the fascination with what Talbot are doing. Good luck to them I say for having a crack.

Harry Butler back to the Brook is big. He’s a serious player and is good enough to give Carisbrook a fair dinkam
Chance at the flag.

What do we know about the new Natte coach? Older non playing fella on a two year deal from Bendigo.

Harry Butler is a gun. Huge boost for Carisbrook, such a presence for them forward of the football. If the Rinaldi boys (Lewis and Zac) return as well, look out. They will be significantly better.

Don’t know much about the new Natte coach, I guess we might find out soon what connections he has.

Very old school coach, previously coached a few district clubs in and around Bendigo, loves giving a good old spray! Has been out of senior coaching for a number of years will be interesting to see how he goes recruiting and what not!
Pretty sure him and Addo spent time together at Stanhope

Good luck to him, they’ve obviously got a bit of faith with a two year deal. The league seems to be favouring the off field non playing senior coaches at the moment.

Old Sneak Beaver seems to have a PhD in Talbot Studies,I'm surprised he hasn’t written a thesis titled 'Everything Talbot Doesn’t Know About Talbot.Meanwhile, I can practically smell the jealousy wafting from the Trentham faithful like last week’s leftovers!

Any news on harcourt for next year?

Ha. Chokers is harsh, pretty disrespectful to Carisbrook and Navarre as well.

What are those sayings, be gracious in defeat and humble in victory, win with humility and lose with grace etc etc.

Anyway, the lads will appreciate the extra motivation next season. 😀
