Something tells me that the NFL aren't rushing to return calls from the AFL...

Word on the street is that only 2 weekends were blacklisted, which presumably means the AFL might have to work around it for the first 2 weeks of finals.

AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon is confident the 2026 finals will not be impacted by the NFL showpiece at the MCG in late 2026.
The NFL announced it would be travelling to Melbourne as part of a multi-year deal to play a game at the iconic sporting venue.

With the NFL wanting its match to be early in the season, which falls around the time of the AFL finals, concern was raised about a clash with the city’s main code.

But Dillon said the AFL had been in discussions with the NFL and MCG to ensure its finals wouldn’t be impacted.

“We’ve had great conversations with the MCG and the NFL about that,” he said.

“I think depending on when the game is played, and they don’t set their schedule until next year, we’ve got all of the contingency covered.

“We are comfortable our finals series will be able to be played as it always will be.”

Raiders v Seahawks at the G?

Lame

It would kind of make sense to me.

Raiders are a well known brand and lots of people wear their Merch, most probably never watched a game in their life but if they heard the Raiders were coming to town I think there would be more interest then most other teams

So just like that the Rams are done with Australia?

I Think a Raiders v Rams could be really cool.

The Seahawks are also fine, I'm just glad it's not the Chiefs could you imagine the bandwagoning they'd get here?

Too good to be true to hope for the Tennessee Titans for personal reasons they are so bad they don't want to be viewed outside of America.

Looks like the game will kickstart season on a Wednesday or Thursday morning so teams will be back Week 2.

Have to be rams vs Eagles or Raiders.
Can't imagine them playing a division game in australia which takes seahawks.

I didn't think it could be the Eagles, from memory we don't play them.

My top will be Rams Seahawks, both with the Aussie connection.

Cardinals played the 49ers in Mexico a few years ago, so they can do divisional match ups.

Logistics wise it's easier to do the West Coast teams, so it limits the options.

The Eagles are on the Rams schedule, but its a home game for the Eagles and it would mean only hosting 7 home games instead of 8/9.

Which we already did this year in Brazil, and won't do again so soon

Luries bank account probably disagrees, which will certainly guarantee we don't do it again until we can be compelled by rule
What's the go with that? I assumed the NFL would incentivise it somehow?
