Just to preface - I'm thinking of getting an AFL Grand Final package this year. I've been wanting to experience an AFL Grand Final all my life, and whether our boys are there or not I'd like to do it this year (as money somewhat allows it).

Any of you folk give me advice on seating? Obviously the higher the category, the cheaper the price. The packages do jump up quite a bit from the cheapest one (which is just under $3k) but if the view is negligible then I'd rather not fork out more, given I really have no interest in attending any of the dinner, breakfast or after game concert events. I'll instead be using my time outside the game to catch up with people I know in Melbourne.

This is the seating on offer: Obviously it's highly likely I'll be at the goal end, it just comes down to tier. I just want a good view of the game.

I had Cat4 Q54 in '05 and Cat 6 Q11 in '04

The view was very much the same, though the Olympic stand is better for facilities and you don't get the sun as bad in the last quarter.

Cat 1 49-52 would be amazing

I've only been the once. 2012. Sydney's last flag. Great game. Malcheski went nuts.

Dad got tickets through his old work. ****in awesome seats.
Section N51 Olympic Stand about 6 or 7 rows back. Sorry mick06

But as good as those seats were it wasn't a West Coast GF. Don't think it matters as long as you're there.
Personally I'd spend up big. It's worth it, especially if the mighty Eagles are there. :rainbow:

G'day jorel. I pretty much agree with previous advice from posters. A good guide to best viewing is the categories they've rated. So my advice would be to do the category that most suits your budget. No pre/post game stuff limits what category but I would still go the best you can. Avoid boundary at the goals unless you want to be on telly, which is fine, (especially if it's an Eagles win & you're on the highlights 4ever :thumbsu:), but not for best view. I have been in the nosebleed section, 3 rows from the top, and the view is still fine but a little dissociated from the play. If possible, stay away from the 'sunny side'...it was only a problem because 2015 was a killer with temperature, looking into the sun & mostly the result. Also, have a look at club's pregame functions, they can be fun & add to the experience. Good onya for going, grandy is great no matter who plays but go WCE!..good year to be planning it IMHO.

This thread is making me jelly. Hoping to go to a game at the 'G with my old man this year. We play Collingwood on his birthday so I guess that's the ticket.

Great bookend goals for the Swans. Best GF since the draw in 2010. Jorel, hopefully for you the 2016 GF lives up to that one and not last year's debacle. Has the season started yet?

The G is a special place for footy.
The GF is a great day, it's just a shame half the people aren't true footy fans.

There's some footy on tonight. :$

Ive been a couple of times,to a GF and a couple of home and away matches and sit at the Olympic stand end at the back of the goals in M4.
Great spot to watch footy.
