We ALL agree ...... there’s no empirical evidence to support an advantage AT ALL relating to the thread ....... tenants on GF day.So we can all agree mcg tenants get a leg up on grand final day and often throughout September

I’ll buy that the home ground/state advantage is attenuated in GFs because the crowd is more mixed/neutral than usual. But I think it’s silly to pretend there’s no advantage.
The Arc@TheArcFooty
“It’s always been like that”
“The G’s the only ground big enough”
“The interstate teams knew what they were getting into”
“Other leagues have a fixed final ground too”
All of these things are true and none of them in any way disprove the idea that HGA exists in GFs

So called afl sell their gf to victoria for a bunch of stuff for victorians
Nrl sell their gf for money for the league as a whole
The money went to the nrl - not just nswLoL
Tourism WA Perth couldn’t buy the NRL GF, even when the NRL unhappy with Stadium Arrangement in NSW...and you somehow equate that to the NRL looking after the league as a whole!?
And the NRL GF is also locked in in Sydney for another generation.
The money went to the nrl - not just nsw
The granny got signed to vic for 30 years for a bunch of stuff for victorians only.
You arent quoting the article i was referencingNRL grand final set to stay in Sydney until 2042 after stadium deal
The NRL grand final is set to remain in Sydney until 2042 after the NSW Government committed to redeveloping ANZ Stadium into a rectangular configuration.www.nrl.com
??
NRL agreed to keep GF in NSW because the NSW govt going to invest in new stadiums in NSW that will benefit ALL NRL fans?? How do WA or QLD NRL fans benefit??
how is that any different from the AFL agreeing to keep GF in Vic because the VIc govt agreed to invest in new stadiums in VIC?
The NRL money was only $10M, it was really just compensation for them losing their 80k stadium for 2 years and having to play the GF at the shitty SCG in front of 45k. They got their GF signed for 30 years for a bunch of stuff for nswelshman only. The money went to the nrl - not just nsw

Your article is at best a red herring, at worst more examples of you highlighting you don’t get what you are arguing. You arent quoting the article i was referencing
Yes and it was agreed in a very underhanded way between the Victorian Government and the AFL hierarchy. From what has been reported that no consultation about this agreement extension was made from the AFL hierarchy to the Clubs who form part of the AFL. Very sneaky to say the least and very unethical and lacking professionalism. Which is why so many think the AFL is corrupt - but of course the tenants of the MCG will always be looked after! The stats say what they say now but otherwise we have to wait? why are you being a little girl and sooking it up in this thread over something that needs more time to come to the fore. God damn. You egirls are dumb as s**t. This is you btw > . Id personally add some brown bits coming out of the mouth to illustrate the s**t that you say but eh, gotta work with what you got i guess. Similar to how the GF HAS BEEN LOCKED INTO THE MCG FOR THE NEXT 30 OR SO YEARS AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THAT.
Is that grab from the arc commenting on hga in grand finals, or something else altogether? They could be talking about any number of things with that one sentence. Can you post the whole topic for some context? Why do you keep quoting references that actually disagree with the point?
The arc doesn’t think it is an MCG tenancy issue, just a Vic issue!

Your ABC article that you keep quoting also flags that they think a third of any regular advantage is lost due to neutral crowd.
So yes, all the experts agree that regular home advantage doesn’t hold...and the arc Bloke actually thinks being a MCG tenant doesn’t even matter...so he clearly doesn’t rate ground familiarity!
Which could be fixed instantly by vic teams playing interstate teams home and away each year.
Bang travel equaled up to close as dammit
Bang you get hga
Bang you discover finally that playing 8 games away is just as much a disadvantage as playing at home is an advantage
And
Bang - you discover that you lose games at home you shouldnt - as a hard game interstate coupled with flying home means you dont get the recovery you had when you were playing mostly at home.
Yeah, thought Pakistani cricket followers would be all over this thread tooJust think of the Pakistani cricket team. They haven't had a home game for a decade. Don't see many of their supporters in here whinging about it. And I can only imagine the melts if Chris Scott was their national coach.
I think they travelling and sleeping in hotels point has been conclusively proven in oh i dunno ... about 10000 sports studies
But yeah whatever.
Almost every other pro sport in the world has put in place something to allow for hga
But no - they are all wrong - and a dude from australia whose team benefits from it - is right
Check out the last 10 years. Even discount the first few years of GC and GWS. Looks like Victorian clubs have the better winning %and yet, in the AFL, over the past 20 years, non Vic teams win more H&A games than they lose....
That must be some 'disadvantage'...
and of course, that ADVANTAGE in H&A, means you get more home finals in the first 3 weeks, and thus are more likely to make the GF...even if you're not quite as good....which would explain non Vic teams losing GFs to Vic teams more often...the better team (ie, the Vic team, which had the harder journey to get there) demonstrated it on the day.
But yeah, whatever...
Which of these other pro sports have half of their fanbase in one city? Or are you just comparing apples and oranges?
Yes, but of course, that applies to you, doesn't it? You're just "a dude from Australia" whose team clearly benefits, but you still sook and claim to be right.
But yeah whatever.
Yep!MCG should have no tennants.
Collingwood - Vic Park
Essendon - Windy Hill
Melbourne - Ethihd
Hawthorn - Waverley
Geelong - Simmonds
Bulldogs - Whitten Oval
Carlton - Princess Park
Then MCG is used for big games and rotated each week so all clubs get equal games there over the year.
