Biggest and most successful club in modern football are the tiges.

we are in a 10 team, 5 million person town and have 105,000 members.

you are in a 2 team, 2.5 million person town and have 80,000 members. Let that lack of buy in sink in.

You are irrelevant east of the nullabor. Another WAnchise.

We do what we want. Get used to it.
Cats and dogs maybe

But our members are seated members - and our revenue per member reflects this minnow club supporter.

i always said when you guys were doing s**t we should have just bought your whole outfit, lock, stock and barrel - taken your song and jettisoned you to the vfl.

We are from eagle-land .....

Lol. We both know you are going to need to try a bit harder than that. Come again.

Honestly, it would still be better than the made up song your currently using.

You lot constantly try and say we get a leg up in h and a - yet there it is - weve got by far the toughest fixture despite coming 5th
You have been given the hardest double up opponents based on 2019 finishing position...it doesn’t mean anything.

Last year Collingwood was rated by CD as having the hardest fixture...because we copped Melbourne twice!

LOL

picking at irrelevancies - sure sign youve lost the argument

Which club does the MCG belong to?

are you being deliberately dense?
No, it is fairly obvious that you are battling to come up with any specific advantage that is solely the domain of MCG tenants

WC travel a feck load more than SA based clubs, why aren’t you moaning about that?
yet strangely 2018 and 2019’s ladder were quite similar
??
In 2018 BL finished 15th, Dogs 13th and Dons 11th all made finals in 2019.

pretty normal for minimum of 3 finals teams to miss out the next year.

The pre-season fixture difficulty articles are about as useful as Robbo’s top50 lists.

But yeah, doesn’t surprise that you think they are helping whatever argument you are trying to make this time.

Aahhh so we cant equate away form in round 6 of 2017 or round 21 of 2017 with finals 2017

but you wish to equate away finals form 2019 with away finals form 2017

Got it.
I’m not equating anything. That’s exactly my point - there is no equivalence.

What has happened in earlier rounds of the season has been virtually irrelevant for Richmond in the latter part of the season for the last three years. In only one single game (v Pies 2018 PF) have the Tigers lost against a team they’d already played that season. That’s once in over 20 matches, and on that evening Collingwood would’ve beaten the AA side - they were exceptional.

Tapering for the business end of the season has worked very well for the Tigers, and allowed them to flog teams in September who’ve flogged them in April or May. Brilliant list management.

This idea that vic make the rules and everyone else needs to go along with it is an anachronistic and outdated attitude that has no place in a truly league. Victorian clubs are not the gate keepers of our national competition.

Whoever "Vic" is he or she doesn't make rules. The "rules" or in other words and I assume you mean the "landscape" of the comp is dictated by where the market is..............

Anyway myself, you and a few others are getting off topic.

Me thinks it's time to bump this old thread, if anyone wants you can continue the "vic centric" conversation here.

The AFL grand final is getting pretty easy to pick when there is an MCG tenant involved against a team from another home ground.

The last 13 have had 10 grand finals between an MCG tenant and another side, with 8 of those going to the MCG team.

Since this post you can add 2 more to the MCG tenant winning total against non tenants.

Cats played games at the MCG as the home tenant during the season. They ended playing 8 games they’re out of 25 for the season.
It’s not our home ground though. We play a couple per year sure but you can’t count away games.

The narrative the we play poorly at the MCG only applies when we lose there I guess

In any case GF’s are pretty neutral affairs as most of the crowd are neutral with an even spread of the teams competing.

In saying all that I’m sure most fans would be happy for states to share the GF.

Geelong not technically an MCG tenant but they get the most games there out of the non tenants

11 home and away games past two seasons, plus 3 finals gave 14 games experience over Sydney's 6 home and away games and 2 finals at the venue

Atleast Geelong were top seed most of the year but this whole "neutral" s**t Victorians have been claiming is total crap

If you think the crows has the raw end of the stick, Freo remarkably had it much more worse.

Freo made finals in 2010. Guess how many games at the MCG they had in the regular season? None.

They finally played at he MCG until losing to Geelong in the semi finals In 2010

?? Freo were the lower ranked team, so they had to play that final away.
That can happen when you don't play every team twice during the H&A season.
Our first game at Subi in 1992 was a final.

I guess you didnt read my post properly....

Freo had ZERO games at the MCG in the regular season.

Also.... you Claimed Hawks game at Subi in 1991 or 1992 was a final. Wrong. Lets look how the hawks fared in WA vs West coast between 1987-1992.

Hawks had the eagles at Subi on August 2nd 1987, Hawks Lost by a point.

Hawks had eagles at subi on May 22nd 1988, Hawks won by 53 points.

Hawks had eagles at subi on 4th of june 1989, Hawks won by 5 points

Hawks had eagles in the WACA on 15th of june 1990, Hawks lost by 23 points

Hawks had eagles in subi on 18th of August 1991, hawks lost by 24 points

Hawks had eagles in subi on september 8th of 1991, Hawks won by 23 points

Hawks had eagles in Subi on 6th of september 1992, eagles won by 13 points.

Freo always had the hawks in Tassie almost every year. Its like facing the cats in Geelong.

Any non victorian side that Travels to Geelong, its basically an instant defeat. Hawks in tassie under the Clarkson years of 2007-18, Hawks rarely lost.

You can Partially thank freo that All Non Victorian sides get at least one game at the MCG every season, even if its that sunday Dead slot. Gotta love the AFLs being the generous souls that they are.

Are you saying Hawks had a "home advantage" when they had to fly, sleep in hotel beds, have normal routine disrupted and not play in front of their home fans?

Sunday at the G is blockbuster slot now, well it is when Collingwood play.

Perhaps it isnt the slot, but the club.
