You said a deal done by "Victorians" well Gil is not a Victorian is he?

We all know you hate on Victorians, but we all also know you are not really that good with your facts.
Ok when stalin did something did they say the georgians did this in the media?

No, they said the russians

Even when stalin crushed dissidents in his own country.

You are getting completely hung up on one tiny little thing as an excuse not to look at the thrust of whats being said.

How many people do you think were involved with this?

20?

30?

100?

The vast majority of whom are victorians

Who are the beneficiaries?

Millions of victorians.

Who are the non-beneficiaries? Near 20 million non victorians

And you are getting hung up over one guy in this whole thing?

The thing i don't get, wtf haven't non-Vic clubs complained about this if it is so unfair?

There must be some benefit for non-Vics don't you think?

And before you go off tap again about the dirty Vics, i can't get my head around the deal either.

Now, when you say i am getting hung up on "1 little thing" that's another of your facts you get wrong.

You hate Vics, it comes across in nearly every 2nd post you make.

On 27 May 2015, several of these officials were arrested by Swiss authorities, who were launching a simultaneous but separate criminal investigation into how the organization awarded the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Those among these officials who were also indicted in the U.S. are expected to be extradited to face charges there as well.[4][5][6] Many officials were suspended by FIFA's ethics committee including Sepp Blatter[7] and Michel Platini.[8] In early 2017 reports became public about FIFA president Gianni Infantino attempting to prevent the re-elections[9] of both chairmen of the ethics committee, Cornel Borbély and Hans-Joachim Eckert, during the FIFA congress in May 2017.[10][11] On May 9, 2017, following Infantino's proposal,[12] FIFA Council decided not to renew the mandates of Borbély and Eckert.[12] Together with the chairmen, eleven of 13 committee members were removed

20 years out.

The first phase of the stadium had just been built

Olympics are awarded 9 years out

What part of this is hard to understand

Heres another example for you

Soccer is currently bidding for the 2026 world cup.

9 years out again.

Are they holding secret negotiations with one prospective bidder?

Nope

As they want the maximum amount of money for soccer
There is a key difference there.
There has never been a bidding process for the Grand Final. I doubt any state organisation has approached them asking for a bidding process. As far as the AFL is aware, only one government wants it. If the WA government built a stadium with the intention of hosting a grand final, and yet didn't inform the AFL that this was their intention, they have failed you as WA citizens.

So they were found to be corrupt and removed - fantastic

Whens that happening to the afl who just GAVE AWAY 2.4 Billion for nothing?

If it were 10 years you would have a point but what organisation signs a bid 20 years out for 20 more years

Here you go again, you will never learn, facts mate, i don't think you even know what the word means.
What is not factual about what i just said?

You posted a paragraph that just said they were removed.

They are actually having a laugh about this - its hilarious.

They think they have just stitched up the deal of the century

Eddie actually says flat out in here that they heard rumblings interstate venues were interested and they preempted it.

Watch that and tell me why we shouldnt be livid.

Pay special attention to 7 minutes on where they have a good laugh at our expense.

right - the annual benefit to victoria is estimated to be 120 million a year from hosting the grand final

They just signed over 20 years of that - 2.4 billion dollars worth - for a bunch of stuff that governments do anyway

200 million stadium upgrade? In 10 years? Maybe?

Wa just built a brand new stadium for 1.6 billion and the wa government didnt require 20 years of grand final

The afl just gave it away for nothing because eddie was shit scared melbourne would lose the grand final.

The AFL has not been approached by anyone regarding hosting a Grand Final - at the end of the day you actually need to do something to initiate change.
They see that both the WA and SA governments have recently spent huge money on stadiums - they are unlikely to upgrade soon (Keep cracking on about Expandable Stadium, get a plan going)
What, in their knowledge, is the likelihood of something becoming worthy of hosting the Grand Final in the next 39 years?

And if you have know idea what the deal is, htf would you have any idea on how much they "threw away for NOTHING"?

Like i said, you have know ******* idea what a fact is.

I think this is a good point, the clubs themselves never say a word. Although I would think they are under a pretty tight thumb what they can and cannot say to the public by head office.
Can you imagine if Nisbett and Rosich came out in WA and asked the public to back them in and take the fight up to the AFL over something like this. It would fester pretty quickly.
The bottom line is the 18 clubs and the principal office are all one in the same, how much money can we fleece from the public while we tell them we are here for them.
It’s just one big political party parading as a sporting organisation.

Well like any organisation - you hold a tender.

Noone in sydney thought about building billions worth of olympic infrastructure before they won the right to host the olympics 9 years before.

I cant believe you are so comically dense as to continue with this vein.

Win bid first. Build infrastructure after

Thats how it works.

simpson fired a shot last night.
said last night how the eagles get to train on the mcg before the carlton game and this was being lauded as something special. simpson said this is not special more something that should be happening anyway. not just for 'special occasions.'
wasn't kochie bleating about it the morning after?
I think they say nothing as they don't overall have a problem with it and would rather appreciate more time playing and training at the mecca. which is fair.

The mcg is going to be held at the mcg for the next 40 years - the grand final this year will be against a club that played 13 games there
Heres your training run.

Thats enough - get off
