These guys played like champions against Carlton. They have earned themselves a game next week for sure. Looks like a good backline if they can play like this often:

B: Newman - McGuane - P. Bowden

HB: J. Bowden - Moore - Raines

Also Johnson, Deledio and Polo can all get runs back there and sounds like JON and Casserly will as well.

goal...game over....don't want to blame Bowden...but would have to be one of his worst by just listening to the game....maybe because he was my dream team captain:thumbsd:

They both showed why we have persisted with them. Made some rookie mistakes that they will need to learn from, but their athleticism is their main attribute, allows them to play on talls but work with the running backmen to give that drive. Very pleased they were given a game and I hope we persist with them.

J Bowden was like a deer in headlights when put under pressure. He's a senior player and when he stuffs up due to lack of confidence it impacts on the whole side.
He was terrible!
Newman ran out of Gas, McGuane was good. Raines alright. Moore made a few crucial mistakes.

Yes...although nothing spectacular from the stats and listening to the game...someone who saw the game will obviously have a better idea..but better to give them a few games to see if they can keep up with pace of the seniors, which no doubt causes skill errors. Lets hope they can both take the next step.

From what I heard listening to the game, sounds like Polak, although servicable, shouldn't be spending too much time forward. I say, if Mcguane has spent all his junior days as a forward, lets get him up there. Shultz can go back to the 2's until he is kicking 5+ every week there as far as I am concerned. Hopefully Thursty will be ready sooner or later to add to the backline too.

Moore will make mistakes.

When has he ever played 4 quarters? Today was his first. He played a very important role and was extremely couragous on plenty of occasions.

Its important for Moore to make a few mistakes here and there. As long as he learns from them, he will only develop further.

Moore was fantastic today, regardless of the few mistakes. :thumbsu:

McGuane beat Kennedy. Fisher beat Moore. McGuane showed some aggro - we just need him to learn now about when he can hit people in the head, and when he needs to cool it.

Moore spent time on Fevola and whitnall also.

I'm not saying he just went to them to man up, but he spent a good 25 mins on whitnall and 15 mins on Fevola.

While on Fisher, it was 50/50. No player was better, however Moore always made a contest.

Moore was impressive, I really liked what I saw.

He's athletic, great mark, great kick, great speed, strength + height.... he has it all and if he can do just a little more (excuse the pun) he will be servicable.

McGuane was drafted the same year as Meyer and Deledio, pick 36 iirc.

He definately deserves time.

He definately deserves time.
Plus he had a very bad upper arm break in his first year which stopped him from doing any weights for the whole year, give him another year to really bulk up and he will be a defensive superstar!!!

Moore was hopeless. Gets caught ball watching and isn't conscious enough of his opponent. Also isn hard enough at the ball. Should not play next week

McGuane played well enough

McGuane was absolutely turned inside out a few times in front of me and looks like he's towing a caravan. I'm a doubting Thomas this morning I'm afraid.

both did enough to warrant a few more games and then make a balanced call on their worth...of course there was a few mistakes but they both did a few good things too....Liked what i saw:thumbsu:

got to agree. especially with McGuane. Not polished but he was hitting the ball and packs hard and was throwing caution to the wind in doing so.
Moore also did enough to not cop the backlash that IMO points to one of the usual suspects. When are they going to realise that Hyde just aint got it?
Calling for the give when he is stationary, finnesing when he has the ball, instaed of giving to the right option, just ****ing things up period. FFS plough, cant understand what the deal is with this dude. ;)
