Anyone else think that Macca should have been dropped for Schammer?? Considering how badly Macca played vs the cats and also Schammer's form last weekend in the WAFL, anyone reckon Schamm should have come in for the veteran??

Just watching the replay of the cats match and I reckon McManus was almost playing for Geelong! Don't get me wrong, I like Macca but he seems to crumble recently in high pressure games and every game from now till we're embedded comfortably in the eight are high pressure games.

Agreed... he had a shocker despite getting 17 touches. He played well in the last quarter though. Chapman still found too much of it late in the game.

Against the lions he will do ok. He is 28 years old now. His body is as tough as its going to get. With him, cookie, jcarr and schoey we have some real mature muscle to match it with the lions.

I reckon macca is more and more shaping his game around cooky's style. If he can keep a bit of pace we could finish up with midsize fearless HBF or BP player.

Scham is still a bit outside and he hasnt ever set the world on fire imo. Sure he sold a dummy once and drilled a class goal, made a few defining runs down the wings but he has a long way to go to become a regular again.

Probably no one knows more than him the tight rope he is walking he will give everthing he's got.

The question to be asked, was Macca the best player to take on Chapman last week in a back pocket?, a position very foreign to Macca. The equivalent of putting Parker at Full Forward.

If he is played in the midfield and forward, he should aquit himself quite well.

I still fear every game he plays that he'll lose the game for us. It's just expected that it will happen. How long can we carry him?

Maccas only position now is as a negating / runwith midfielder. He should not play in defence as his use of the ball comming out of defence is suspect. Good forwards will always cut him up eg Chapman.
He is vying for a spot with Webster, Walker, Cook, Dodd & Hayden.

Before Schammer was dropped he was struggling to tackle due to his wrist injury, hopefully that has improved if he is going to come into the side for tonights game. I think Smith should be named as an emergency every time that rain is forecast for a game.

Because CC thinks us supporters still like him, and if he drops him then the supporters will turn.

Well we all like him as a person, not as a footballer

Even though he did a fair few clangers last week v Geelong I thought his endeavours in the last quarter v Geelong was enough to get him a match v brisbane.

How wrong i was.....

Hopefully this is his last game for a long long while.

The match committee should offer shaun to select one of the remaining home games this season to announce his retirment to allow the freo supporters to give him a rousing senf off

Agreed. Let's do it before it turns really ugly, enough's enough.

He still got the loudest roar when the voice over guy was reading out the team list.

Bloody embarrassing. Who exactly is left that still rates this guy?

I didn't cheer anyone for a stupid voice over. But If I did, I certainly would have stopped cheering when they read out maccas name.

No. Are you trying to tell us he showed any skill though?

Not much good going in hard in the packs if you're just going to handball it straight to the opposition when you get it.

He'll be dropped this week and if the finals start looking out of reach Connolly will give the likes of Gilmore, Dunn, Peake etc games ahead of him. He allways gives 100% but his skills even without pressure are below AFL standard. Should get a send off game towards the end of the year perhaps the Derby or the game against the saints.

He makes too many disposal errors to warrant his selection. He handballed again to the opposition on Sat night and I lost count of the kicks that sprayed off his boot. Drop him!!!!!
