cut it out. its getting ridiculous.

If i was doing our best and fairest now he would probably sit about 5th for our side. he has been good this year

last night supporters from this board came on and set he should be dropped he is a dud blah blah blah.

he had more goal assists then any other player on the ground with 4.
kicked a goal. had the second most inside 50s of any player on our side.. yes he missed 1 shot on goal and dropped 1 easy mark... he didnt have the greatest of nights but if someone has the most goal assists on the ground in a side that got beaten by 10 goals and had the second most inside 50s i would say thats a pretty decent effort.
people think that because he made AA one year that he should do it every year, fact is buddy wouldnt even get AA if he was a part of our forward line. our midfeild has such poor delivery that none of our forwards have a chance to show what they are capable of.

give him a break.

If he is sitting 5th in your B and F then matters at bomberland are far worse than I thought.
He is probably on about 350+ a year. In which case a lot more is expected, that you are not getting. Get rid of him. He is not going to deliver your team anything going forward.

have you seen any of our games this year?
other then the odd 1 or 2?

he is 13th in the league for average goal assists, has kicked a few goals himself. averages 7 marks a game. averaging 15 disposals. 2.5 inside 50s a game..

obviously he can still improve a lot but he is not someone that should be getting contunuously abused by everyone saying he is a dud and should be dropped after every single game..

I agree. He is actually improving as he is getting used to the forward line.

This year he went from being a defender to trying to fill the hole at the most difficult position on the ground.

i think mcphee biggest problem is that he drops to many marks where he is by himself or has a couple fo metres on his opponent, last night wasn't the first time hes done that this year. He also is prone to in situations where it should be simple and over complciating it and making basic mistakes. For example after the dropped mark he tried to break a tackle when in fact a quick handpass to lovett by freeing the arms or even before he got tackled would have been the much better option.

And although this is 1 example he does things like this to often.
I am an occasional mcphee basher but overall i still believe his a valuable player, and one of the hardest workers and does contribute more than his fair share each week.

any player who makes such glaring eras each week is bound to be criticized. It appears to me its to do with confidence and poor decision makin, also trying to hard at times. The level of criticism is def unjustified atm though.

There is your problem highlighted right there. I have seen many bombers games and it is a consistent problem. He is probably in your top 5 highest paid players and his output is not consistent with that IMO.

i would think lloyd lucas mcveigh fletcher mal would all be earning more. with players like welsh, JJ, stanton, watson all on similar salaries...

i personally think his output is consistent with it though, i mean there are a lot of players in the afl who get paid more then him who arent going as well as he is...

i mean seriously he is 13th in average goal assist and 7th for most goal assists in the league.. gets a lot of the ball whilst playing in a postion where he doesnt have the physical attributes to play in i think he is earning it fine

his performances are not worthy of the critisism he is getting
tradeable? he is given we have gumbelton and neagle who also need to develop in the forward line but poor performing he is not.

Agree! I was savage on Adam last season but he has been ok in 08. I dont like him as a defender. A half forward/midfielder imo.

Completely agree! I thought he was decent last night. I have no doubt we would be a worse team without him atm.

Problem with McPhee is he isnt the brighest sort. He played his best footy back in the days when he was loose man in defence and would float across packs to take contested marks. Now he has an expanded role where he needs to think too much and he gets confused...

i thought mcphee was terrible in the last couple of years, made too many costly mistakes and i also had little time for him. But imo that's changed this year, his performance has improved heaps in 08 and he is one of our better players.

he's not a great decision maker but that's why he's suited to playing forward where his only option is to turn around and kick it between the sticks.

he's offered more than Lloyd up forward in a few games...
 
I was pretty harsh on McPhee last/start of this season but he is improving in his half-forward role. Like previous posters have said he really needs to work on his decision making though. It's heartbreaking to have players streaming up the field and Adam to mark it on the wing, and instead of moving it up quickly while we have the numbers advantage up forward, stop, look around till the umpire blows play on, and kick it to a flooded forward line. Get some run on son!
 
To those saying we should trade him, what do u suggest we would get out of it? if you all think he is rubbish then do you think the rest of the league are going to be fooled by it?

I thaught other than the obvious mistakes he made last week he was one of our best players. Took a couple of strong marks up the ground and allowed lucas to player deeper, and with scotty's fitness base being low as it is it made all the difference for a while in that 2nd quarter.

I honestly think some people on bigfooty know as much about football as my mother. I can imagine you sitting in front of your telly, and nothing at all pops into your mind throughout the game except TRADE MCPHEE! when he drops one easy mark. But then when he holds a strong contested one and pumps it long to Lucas or Lloyd, it is just taken as a given. Some people really need some perspective
