Whos looking at picking up mcphee

Seeing as Lucas is back, Mcphee will score well

as he av 90 when Lucas is playing this year and he did great last year with Lucas and Lloyd in.

Yes!
Should have done it last week  I was going to(would have scored 2157 this week)
Kennelly/Waters -> Mcphee
But which one do I trade Waters or Kennelly?

Waters suspended
Kennely gets injured very easily

If kennely could stay fit id go with him
haha
but yeh thats a BIG if

Yeah, im wondering if Waters will keep his spot though?
Is he a chance to get dropped with his shocking form?
Leaning towards Kennelly-> Mcphee.

If Waters' niggling injuries persist, adding the suspension on the back of that, he will most probably be given the flick..I'm looking at McPhee as a possible replacement if Waters does get some more niggling injuries, because McPhee loves roaming around without as much attention as someone like Lucas & Lloyd gets, has been struggling of late with some tough oppononets than he usually gets but with Lucas back, his scores should be similar to last year, if not better if he can kick a few more goals...

More freedom, less attention, weaker opponents, proven DTr.

Creates interest, may play the R Murphy role from here on.

2 weeks off could help the niggling injuries though?
I think he will still come back and fire for the rest of the year but as I mentioned before, he may not be given the chance.
I really dont like Kennelly though, stupid idea to bring him in.

If Waters is fit he is a certain starter in my opinion. Easily in the Eagle's best 22.

Yeah, I will cop 0's for Waters but I will keep him.
Cant afford the trades, or can I. Looks like im going back to the drawing board.

Im still not sold on Mcphee. Sure he may well play well with Lucas back in the team. But Lucas didn't look to flash and if something would happen to him then Mcphee's scores will drop again and Waters could be back to his best in a few weeks time anyway. They are contesting the charge so i don't think they would worry about contesting if they were going to rest him anyway because of this ''injury'' he has. All he needs is one good game and he will be back IMO his couple of hundreds this year is whats making me keep him. With the backline being limited this year im willing to leave him in my side and have faith. Have Wona to cover if the contested charge is a fail.

Thread just inspired me to trade Symes for McPhee.

In the same boat as you. Could make a handy 42k profit, but I can see why people still aren't sold on McPhee yet. I might give him another week to prove himself (I think Symes is still a week away so price shouldn't drop?) which could save us all form making a horrid mistake at this time of the season...

considering trading out Ellis for McPhee. Thoughts?

Same boat, but gonna give it this weekend's game to determine if it's worth it or not. Ellis shouldn't change in value as his BE is his average and McPhee will only go up a about ten grand if he scores 90 IIRC.

Last thing I wanna do is jump on someone that's struggling and had one good scoring game. Essendon are struggling so McPhee may find himself in lots of different experimental roles, but if Lucas picks his game up McPhee may find himself back where he was last year more often.

Is McPhee truly worth the trade???

I can understand how Lucas coming back to play CHF will help McPhee (with him dropping back to CHB) will be beneficial to McPhee DT wise but................does anyone have stats on him when he actually has played CHB??? That would be interesting to see as I only have 6 trades left and want to use EVERY trade from this point on wisely and reckon that McPhee is a good buy. BUT i need to see STATS!

First game of season and round 10 scores average to approx 90 with Lucas there.

Also last year seeing as Lloyd came back it freed him up giving him a good average i cant remember the exact average but it was atleast 90 im pretty sure.

Round 1 Lucas played for how many minutes? 10-15?
So that would mean Mcphee played 3 quarters without Lucas that game anyway.

Last year he averaged between 89 and 90.

3rd highest ranked defender last year (av 89) but played the 3rd tall role and outlet player (similar to Thornton this year). I think he may stay as the 3rd tall forward, that was Knights plan initially even with Lucas in the mix.

He won't be experimented with, Knights has been very stubborn with his positioning, not changing his plans based on results. He is insistent on persisting with his plans, and is content to cop the losses. And McPhee was always going to be played on the forward wing this year, it was one of the first things Knights discussed, long before any of the injuries.

Anyone thinking that Gumbleton may come back and take Mcphee's spot up forward?
Mcphee at CHB = DT Gun

Doubt it.

If you want to buy him, do so with the expectation he will play forward, don't be expecting him in the backline. Not promising anything, that's just what Knights has been saying all year.

Ok well if not playing down back, I hope he can play a bit like someone else(who may happen to look a bit like him) and lead up the ground to grab a few cheap marks. He has always tackled well. Throw in a couple of goals and he could become a good consistent DTer and score 70-100 each week from here on in.

A Murphy type role is what he needs to score well and it's not out of the question. Probably depends a bit on midfield supply as well. (Smiles as he tries to imagine Jobe Watson hitting him lace out:)).
