The OOF kick, was a 50m pass to a forward running at full tilt towards the boundary. If McPhee kicks it a metre or two back inside the field, the defender gets a punch on it and you bag him for a shit kick. As it was, the ball was marginally outside the boundary, but hit Pav perfectly. Perhaps Pav's lead wasn't to the ideal place?

THe kick to Palmer, went to Palmer. Sure it could have been a lace out pass on the chest, but in the end, it wasn't, and didn't need to be. When the ball arrived, Palmer had enough opportunity to do something with it. Unfortunately, Palmer failed to take the ball cleanly, which is Palmers error, not McPhee's. Pearce had a kick much the same, during roughly the same part of the game. The difference is, the recieving player took the ball cleanly, and got a disposal away.

It was a 30m pass not even running full pelt. Stop making excuses for the hack. I can't believe the amount of excuses that are made for him, yet for Murphy he's made as a scapegoat every time he plays, or even Schammer.

As for the Palmer kick.. it should have hit the target full stop. It was behind him and took a bounce away from Palmer - hence why he slammed McPhee for it. The guy has ALWAYS been a spud kick. I was angry when we decided to get him and still angry that he is in the team. Broughton, McPharlin and Silvagni get back, he has no place in the team anymore. Fyfe has passed him and played just 5 or 6 games. Morabito is already gone by and Pearce is close to passing him too.

We should end the McPhee hate debate here, he's obviously doing enough to stay in. I dont expect his skills tbe a fluid as Fyfe, Hill, Hase etc but I bet his opponents leave the field more battered than the young uns opponents do.

Kicks enough goals now too. A bit soloman like is his role.

See that's the thing. I'm unsure of your thoughts with regards to McPhee's performances over the past month and a bit, and i feel assuming that i know your thoughts on this issue would be somewhat arrogant of me, hence me asking you for clarification.

If you feel that answering a question about which games have been valuable contributions, is jumping through hoops, then i apologise. On a forum where people are here to express their opinions, and listen to the opinions of others, i don't believe that asking you for yours, is asking you to jump through hoops.

You've been more than willing to express your thoughts on other McPhee related topics, i don't see how it is asking too much, for you to express your opinions on his performance over the past two months.

So how about it big fella, which games weren't up to scratch?

I've seen McPhee do a number of good things. His ability to take a strong mark in a pressure situation is rivalled only by Pav.

Be honest with yourself - McPhee screws up the simple things. The basic pieces of play that good teams do as almost muscle memory, he makes look impossible. His clangers are rarely a result of trying to be creative (as Pav's might be) but as a result of just simply screwing up.

Stats don't measure that. People wouldn't be on his back if he didn't do one of those kinds of clangers each week.

He's much better than Dodd, but he has his Dodd moments. Not many others in the team do.

I don't agree with you on that, but hey, whats new . I don't think it is about simply screwing up, players do it, I think it's about nit picking on any mistake from everyons favourite whipping boy. De Boer misses a goal from inside the goal square because he has no left foot, it costs us a goal, do we hear the lynch mob crying for blood? How is it any different? Oh, thats right, never mind.

It should have hit the target, sure, all kicks should hit the target, i'll give you that. In the real world though, that doesn't always happen. The fact remains, that Palmer had more than enough time to do something with the ball, if he didn't fumble. Fk knows where all this 10m behind/allmighty spray stuff is coming from, perhaps we are talking about a different thing.

You hate half our team though, so your opinion is pretty much meaningless. 'Being angry' from the get to, over the recruitment of McPhee, doesn't make me think you are overly open minded about his performances either champ. At least Cassius and Jefe arent Port Adeilaide trolls in disguise.

I haven't seen it. Read a few things about set shots, but not a word said about the 5m miss. Tbh the set shots you can almost handle, but from the square man....thats twice this year.

We really do need a no holds barred rage thread, where all the hotheads can go and :wrists:. Would keep the bullshit off the rest of the board, which would be nice.

I Foxtel IQ2'ed the game, I watched the first 20mins before writing that post... so I'm happy with my response. Palmer looked DIRECTLY at McPhee. Absolutely directly at him because it was such a shit kick.

I disagreed that it was two of Mundys possies that turned it over. He was forced into an error for one as he had to throw it on the boot, the other was Morabito's careless turnover. McPhees kicks missed the target when he was not under pressure at all.

Right, so we've gone from giving him a spray to looking directly at him. All good. We'd get there eventually if I could be bothered, however, I am tired of this stupid thread so here is my summary...

After a shaky couple of first games McPhee has played good footy other than the game against against the Pies. His last two games against Sydney and Norths have been very good. He is a valuable contributor who makes clangers but has better disposal effeiciency stats than many of our revered and much loved players. McPhee is amongst our best tacklers and 1% players. Many people are pissed off becasue he was given 3 years and Hase only got 1. Many people are on a anti-McPhee bandwagon as they always like to have a whipping boy. The angry people cannot see anything he does without a jaundiced view. Nobody has been calling him brilliant or great, but there are several reasonable people now saying McPhee is playing well.

I'm over it. It's time to start crucifying someone else for those who always like a little blood on their hands.

Come on Brades, even you admitted that McPhee played a good last quater and kept giving it everything. It is time to stop being a hater. It is not as if we are 2-8 and looking for a way to win a game. We are equal top of the ladder!!!

Why dont you tell us what you DO like about the team? It would be shorter than what you dont!
