He seems to be perennially underrated even by swans supporters, he's been massive for us this year, especially considering his personal tragedy from last year. An absolute class player, and we take him for granted without a doubt. Had a great game today, and should finish in the top 5 for the B & F

Very interesting to hear. Macca has always been an utter legend and fine team leader in my eyes?...I'm actually quite surprised to hear he's ever been underrated by any Swans fans!!! I was oh so happy when he got his deserved accolade as co-captain.

I talked a lot of smack about McVeigh before this year, but he's been utterly amazing recently. I never want the ball in anyone else's hands. Whatever he decides, it is almost always a good decision. Even his hurried kicks around the body out of packs go into empty space or the arms of a Swans player he should barely have known was there. Bloody smart footballer.

I agree J_Moore, definitely become invaluable due to the way he uses the footy. A vital cog in the midfield for us.

Kidding, right?

I think his execution and disposal efficiency have gone up an extraordinary amount this year. Incredible how often he's saved our bacon with a clearing kick round the body out of a tight spot deep in defence. I hope Hanners and Shaw take some kicking lessons from him. ;)

From 2004-2007 he really was being carried. High draft pick, but really not very impressive if we were all honest. However, the investment started to turn around in 2008 and he started to show something of worth, but he's rarely going to rip a game apart (ala. v WB 2008). Yet he seems to always use his possessions well. Sometimes we must remember that he's actually quite young for his experience (27yrs - 200 games). I think we saw what he's all about behind the scenes with the jumper presentation speech in 2011. He's deep into culture, completely loved the club as kid and therefore a true leader of the Bloods.

This is what he brings...

Brilliant last night. Was all class and time stood still at times for him. Just found space and spun out of trouble beautifully. We have a lot of grunt but he is magnificent to watch in beast mode.

I'm often impressed by mcveigh, but some of those sublime dummies and feints to get around his man last night were superb, and often seemed to be at telling times. Couple of times I thought he could have gone for goal, but was looking for the best option. Planning to rewatch the game on the tele just to get another look!

A few folks I was watching the game at the pub with last night, neutrals with a passing interest with the Swannies, kept commenting about "the bald guy" and how good/composed he was.

Really taken his game to another level this year, definitely don't take it for granted. Macca has progressed into full jedi ninja status. Great praise from Pendles too.

A big part of the reason we've added outside class/spread/run to our inside grunt. Definitely the guy I like with ball in hand the most, especially kicking inside 50, one of our only that consistently lowers their eyes.

No, not at all mate, he took a long time coming to be the player he has become in the last 2 thirds of this season. Grim will back me up when i said last night that he was our best.
Ahh well said Bedford.

He has been the polish wehave needed. One more week of it & we can put him up there as one of our favourites.
