I walked in on this on at the GF barbie I was at and I sh1t you not, I thought some drunk, fat, bogan was doing karaoke. It was like some pitiable soul in a contest for courage on the School of Hard Knocks. But they would have hit more notes, and won more respect than this uninspired choice and roll-out blimp for cashed up bogans.

I cannot believe Gomez defended the performance.

Muse is loud, lame and cheesy. People like their songs, especially the musically uninitiated, they are proven stadium performers and would be perfect for the Grand Final IMO. That said, they would demand a shit ton of money and in my opinion it is money that should be invested in anything else.

Pre-game entertainment is complete wank, no one buys GF tickets because they hear that Jet or Meatloaf are going to mime/butcher their way through a five minute set.

Live music will never sound good at the MCG, I for one think they should hire those North Korean school children to keep us entertained for half an hour. They could even release a couple of gazelles and a lion onto the field, that i would watch. Anything but washed up "stars", I only know Meatloaf from that guy with **** in fight club, his music means nothing to anyone under thirty, maybe he was a hit with those from Andy D's generation?

Is there any truth to the rumour that, after hearing Meatloaf in the rehearsals on Thursday, the AFL tried to pull the pin on the performance and the issue over safety with the weather was a bit of a smokescreen ??
