How long before we get a night GF? It's gotta happen one day. Eventually the AFL will need to come up with something new to keep guaranteeing mega-TV rights. A night GF with a half-time spectacular like Madonna put on (WOW) would put the AFL on the world stage like never before.

Disagree. I don't think there ever "has to" be a night grand final, and I certainly don't think it will happen because the AFL needs just a little bit more money.

Madonna was brilliant.

But that doesnt mean we need Grand Final entertainment at half time.

The footy is plenty enough entertainment in itself. Half time is for food drink and talk.

Just get some decent relevant younger performers pregame, give them a 25 minute set, do the National Anthem and be done with it.

Yeh much as I thought, looked ok but meh Madonnna has done her dash & probably had to pay the NFL to put that show on as it was all just to promote her new album - the only decent 1/2time NFL show I recall was Springsteen.

& as far as the AFL goes, forget about any 1/2 time rubbish & just give the pregame to whatever Aussie band is going alright at the time - Lionel Richie was ok but he seems to be the exception to the rule with that generation of singers still going around.

To enable the half time show at the SB the NFL has to extend the half time break out to 36mins up from the usual 12 mins. If we tried to do something similar we would see players suffering muscle tears due to cooling down too much over that long of a break. Let's just stick with the classics a performer doing Waltzing Matilda, One Day in September and the Holy Grail before the game then the anthem an into it

You're kidding comparing Madonna's effort with Meatloaf, surely. Madoona was good I thought.

As for the poll 43%, nearly half, gave her an A or a B. Allow for the obvious fact that many of the F's are probably tall poppy knockers, as you find with stars of any description, hence can disregard alot of those numbers. Makes the A's and B's look better.

Madonna really was entertaining. I thought the LMFAO duet was very well done (and I historically hate that band with a passion). Although as said Madonna did lip sync the whole thing. Still she was not there to sing rather then entertain. Really did show up the pathetic excuse which was Meatloaf.

you are kidding me right? Madonna was bloody fantastic! yes she did lip sync but as a performance she was fantastic! Apart from one minor mis hap during her "Music" performance she danced like a 25 year old! She still look hot at 53 and would have to be one of the most hottest MILFS going around!

No Female performer comes close to Madonna and If she put on a performace like that at the AFL grand final I dont think too many people would be disappointed like trhat terrible Meatloaf performance.

Actually more People in the States tuned in to watch Madonna's half time show then to watch the SUperbowl match. The Half time show was watched by 111 million viewers beating the Previous record Held by Micheal Jackson in 1993 109 Million.

Love her or Hate her is is a great show girl that is for sure!

I don't really care about the pre-match entertainment and think the superbowl is as tacky as all ****.

Not sure where people heard Bruce was playing, because my sources say that they are getting someone with a bit more experience to avoid a repeat debacle like Meatloaf. He's 85 but apparently still puts on a great show.
